Hey everyone,
I have a 8.5 year old Bullmastiff. He’s my biggest treasure and It destroys me seeing him struggle walking.
Medically, Rollo, suffered from left hyp dysplasia already at age of 8 months. I broke my savings and at age 1 I got him into complete hyp (left side) replacement surgery in a very good clinic. After some recovery time, although he never ran the same again, we had another wonderfull 7.5 years together.
Last weeks we visited the vet, did x-rays, and the vet can’t tell us for sure what Rollo has. He believes it’s overgrown calcium/bone in the knee but it’s very hard to demonstrate it, which hurts so much that Rollo won’t even step on his left leg (front).
Rollo is atm on supplements, and Gabapentine 300mg, but I see no improvements. Last resort is Librela which i hear does wonders but breaks the leg completely in 1,2 years and I want it to be the absolute last option i apply for him.
Did any Bullmastiff parent encounter this, had a similar experience with their loved one? The vet’s scratch just doesn’t do it for my itch.
Thank you
