This is up there for one of my favorite boulders! Absolute classic up at Flagstaff. Worth checking out if you are in the Front Range area!

I’m planning to climb Squeeze of Death at Mount Baldy tomorrow, but I can’t pin down where it is. The only resource I’ve found is this guide, and I don’t trust it. The map literally has north pointing down... and when I try to line it up with the satellite view on Google Maps, nothing matches.
If anyone has a GPS pin or a detailed description of the approach (parking spot, trail, landmarks, rough distance), I’d really appreciate it. If I can’t confirm the location, I’ll skip it rather than risk wandering around looking for it.

Hello fellow climbers!
Did anyone visit the bouldering areas in Squamish, B.C., Canada recently?
Can you share something about the weather or condition in Squamish recently?
Is bouldering there available or is it raining heavily and everything is wet?
I have read the guidebook and maybe only the Gabb's Cave is available for the rainy days?
Please give me some suggestions and recommendations about going ahead (forget about forecasts) or coming back next time.
I took the flight for 12 hrs and stayed in Vancouver for a few days. I wish I could have a bouldering session before ending my journey.
Thanks 🙌🏽

I've been climbing on the kilter board for the past few weeks and I've been able to consistently send v3s and some v4s but I am unable to keep tension on the climbs that I do send. I have my own shoos so I don't think the shoes are the issue, it could just be a issue with my skill and technique and I know the common answer might be to climb more but I am posting this in hopes that there is something else I can do in order to get advice on how to keep tension. Finger strength might be an issue, I don't know my metrics for finger strength yet but as for pulling strength I can do two one-arm pull-up on each arm, 30 consecutive Pull-Ups, and I weigh 120 lb and am 5 ft 2.

I was in Font a few weeks ago and tried the boulder once until the rain starts. I got the first half of it done very quickly. Stuck on the move in the middle part where the left heel is holding tension on the left side of the boulder and your hands both are on the right side (one move before going back to the left side with the left hand).
I wonder if the upper part is much harder or if it‘s okish. It‘s almost a highballer I‘d say and I don‘t want to jinx a fall on that height… All in all it feels like I really enjoy the boulder, but still not sure if I want to come back in spring for it or make something else.

I'm super new to climbing (literally been going 2 weeks) and came across this blue route in the middle which looks kinda interesting but I have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to go about it? I get the vibe it's trying to teach some kind of technique or something but my attempt involved struggling up the first 2 holds then not being able to move 😭 Not asking for beta just like.... some idea what I'm meant to do with this

Hey all, forever lurker, here. This morning I sent a project on a 45-degree arête after many sessions. I'm new-ish to climbing and am older than many beginners (46). This is my favorite style of boulder -- open hand grips and big, throwy moves. But I think it also exposes a lot of areas for improvement with technique, core stability, heel-hook tension, hand strength, etc.
I want to improve as much as I can, while it's still reasonable to improve. I especially want to improve on this style of boulder, which really calls to me (and which is maybe less risky at my age and ability level compared to very crimpy sets).
Can anyone recommend some practical exercises or areas of improvement I should focus on, on or off the wall, to really lean into this style? Thanks! :-)

On this one there was a lot of chalk on the middle left hold, I thought that it was necessary to use it in a crazy way and tried a crazy movement, at the end I found out how powerful it is to be able to place feet further from the wall and the body against the wall as much as possible (on the gray hold in the middle). That was the crux and when I got that it got way easier.

Just some shots of my time in Kasagi, Kyoto, Japan. Not a ton of actual BOULDERING shot on film, but moreso showcases the area. Enjoy!
P.S. If anyone in Ontario, Canada ever wants to shoot let me know :)

I get little shakes when doing a lot of moves in a row close to my limit. Is this a power endurance issue or related to technique?

I'm curious what experienced climbers wish they'd focused on when they first started bouldering. It's easy to get caught up trying to finish every problem, but I imagine there's a lot to learn beyond just getting stronger.
Would you recommend focusing on footwork, learning to read routes, improving grip technique, or simply climbing as often as possible?
Also, how do you know when to keep working on a problem versus stepping away and coming back later? I'd love to hear what actually helped you improve without developing bad habits early on.

I really liked this slab. It was a difficult one for me at the beginning, but with a good departure and this balancing at the end, it was finally really on my range!

Hey hive mind. Seven months ago, I got a tib/fib while bouldering in the Buttermilks. I’ve had an EXTREMELY good recovery process (actually fairly miraculous - shoutout to Northern Inyo Hospital) and my coach has okayed me for bouldering again. I’m still not taking big falls outside though (nor am I taking whippers on lead) as those lower leg muscles continue to come back, and I’m curious about good recs for decent lowball boulders in the Front Range (~8-10ft) as I get back into things. (Frankly, I also need to practice headgame and safe falls for the next few months.)
Criteria:
- V0-V8 range. No preference on style; the priority is just pulling on rock.
- Good for winter bouldering. I know stuff exists on Guanella, but that’s not really somewhere I’m going to boulder for the next 3-5 months, and after that I plan to be firmly back into doing things outside of lowballs anyway.
- Anywhere on the Front Range. Preference is accessibility from Morrison to Boulder, but I’m totally fine driving 1-2 hours if it’s a worthy lowball.
Here’s some examples of stuff I’m looking for:
- Long Boulder various routes at Clear Creek Tunnel 1
- Dasani V6 at Morrison
- Tutorial Rock and Broken Heart Boulder at Flagstaff (done em all)
Also VERY open for any traverses. Monkey Traverse at Flagstaff is a little outside what I’m looking for right now given the height of the finish, but stuff like that just closer to the ground would be amazing.
Thanks for any suggestions! Excited to be back.

I got some advice from a japanese pro climber regarding this move, and he said i had to lock off and pull harder on my right arm and shift myself more towards the right crimp, but I am not able to pull more than this. He also said to point my foot down more while camming the heel between the hold and the wall, which I'm trying to it.
But whatever I try, my heel keeps sliding off the moment i start pulling. So any advice or cues I could try would be helpful.
Edit: video of the pro climber showing me the move in the comments.
