Subreddit r/Boruto Spoiler Policy Spoiler

Hey all. This subreddit has both anime-only fans and manga readers, so spoilers need to be handled properly.

We have had cases of manga content being posted carelessly in anime spaces, spoilers in titles, and posts not being tagged correctly. Here is a direct reminder and a quick checklist before you post:

1. Use the correct flair

Use the appropriate flair for your post:

  • Anime for anime content
  • Manga for manga content
  • Manga Leaks for leak content

If your post is about manga or leaks, or if it has the potential to contain discussion from the manga, do not flair it as anime.

2. No spoilers in titles

This is one of the most important rules.

A spoiler is anything that has not been adapted in the anime yet. That includes manga content, leaks, new characters, power-ups, major events, and obvious implications.

Do not put spoilers in the title. This includes direct spoilers and implied spoilers. No manga-only names, no technique names, no reveal bait, and no wording that gives away future plot points. Avoid masking names in titles with the asterisk (*) symbol. Depending on how it is masked and the context of the title, the post may be removed and your account may be banned.

Use common sense before posting. Ask yourself: would an anime-only fan learn something from this title? If yes, change it.

3. Spoiler tag the post

If your post contains spoiler material, it must be spoiler tagged so the content is hidden.

Using the correct flair alone is not enough. If the post contains spoilers, spoiler tag it.

4. No spoilers for other anime/manga

No spoilers for other franchises, whether manga or anime, will be tolerated.

Thank you all!

Manga Spoilers / Discussion When you literally look at it, Orochimaru and Isshiki's are literally just similar villains with different contexts and characters Spoiler

Orochimaru wanted Sasuke as his next vessel, only to get destroyed by his own potential vessel. The exact same thing happened to Isshiki, who was ultimately killed by Kawaki, his own potential vessel. What's even more interesting is that both villains were in a severely weakened state and nearing the end of their lives, desperately needing a new vessel as soon as possible. Orochimaru was practically dying and needed Sasuke to survive, while Isshiki was also running out of time and needed Kawaki as his vessel. Both villains were desperate to secure the bodies they wanted to take over, only to end up getting humiliated and killed by the very people they intended to use. They both met the same fate, which is actually a pretty interesting parallel between Naruto and Boruto

Currently on episode 197. Really enjoyed the Mitski recover mission and the fire prison/shojiji arc; everything else has had serious ups and downs with more downs than ups. outside of the shrouding mystery of who the hell the Jiraya look alike is this Kara/Karma and ninja tool stuff is fucking garbage and mad annoying.

Manga Spoilers / Discussion How would Kakashi handle TBV if he became Hokage instead of Shikamaru? Spoiler

Post image
4 Upvotes

Let’s say Kakashi takes over instead of Shikamaru. How differently do you think he handles everything?
Would he hunt down Sasuke himself, considering what he told him before he left the village at the end of Naruto?
How would he handle the Shinju? Same approach as Shikamaru, or something different?
Would he call Tsunade back to help?
Would he join the fighting himself? How would he do?
Would he hear Boruto out and help him if he felt something was wrong with his memories?
How would his conversations with Sarada go? Would she have an easier time getting through to him?
You don’t have to answer everything, just the questions that interest you most. Curious what you think would change with Kakashi in charge.

Manga Spoilers I hope Boruto gives Sarada more moments where her intelligence actually matters

One thing I miss from the original Naruto series is when fights weren't just about who had the bigger attack. Figuring out an opponent's ability, noticing a small weakness, and coming up with a plan could completely change the outcome.

Sarada has the Sharingan, good battle instincts, and medical training, so there's a lot they could do with her beyond giving her stronger abilities. I'd love to see her win a fight because she figured something out that everyone else missed, especially against an opponent who initially seems impossible to beat.

With everything getting crazier in Two Blue Vortex, I think moments like that would help make the fights more memorable.

Manga Spoilers / Discussion I wish Boruto characters were more expressive Spoiler

It just seems like every character lacks expression. Everybodies face is always looking apathetic. Its hard for me to get interested when the faces look so apathetic to me. I dont find apathy to be interesting if its in all of your characters. I know Itachi and Sasuke were popular for that, but I think it doesnt work if its every character.

Who is more interesting to you?

Manga Spoilers / Discussion HOT TAKE: What’s your opinion on Boruto as a whole - both the anime and the manga? Spoiler

I’ve watched every episode of the anime and then read both the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. I see SO much hate for Boruto, and honestly, I just don’t fully agree with it.

First of all, I really enjoyed the anime, and I genuinely think the anime-original episodes add a lot of value to the story as a whole. I loved how they expanded on the characters’ personalities, relationships, and everyday lives.

For example, the Kawaki Academy arc showed him having relatively normal human interactions, experiencing different emotions, and learning to think about other people. I really appreciated getting to see that side of him.

I also really liked the Funato arc, especially the ending, when Boruto was willing to sacrifice himself to stop the fighting by jumping off the ship. To me, that showed a lot of character development. Mitsuki’s and Sarada’s reactions made the moment even more meaningful.

Another arc I really enjoyed was the one where Mitsuki ran away. I felt that it added so much depth to the relationships between the characters.

This is also why I disagree with people who want the Two Blue Vortex anime to have absolutely no “filler.” I understand that some people prefer a faster-paced story, but I think the anime-original episodes add so much depth to the characters and make their relationships feel more meaningful. I also really enjoy seeing their everyday lives, rather than focusing exclusively on the main plot.

After finishing the anime, I started reading the Naruto Next Generations manga, and at first, I was genuinely surprised by how little the story was expanded compared to the anime. The manga is much more focused on the main plot, with fewer side characters and less emphasis on character relationships. I really enjoyed seeing the characters’ lives outside the main storyline in the anime, and a lot of that is naturally missing from the manga.
Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the manga! I also understand that it might be a normal thing for the anime to expand on these things afterwards.

Now, on to Two Blue Vortex.
First of all, I really like the Omnipotence arc at the end of NNG, and I think the overall story is incredibly interesting and well-written. However, I was heartbroken when I learned what happened to Boruto and how much he had lost.

As I started reading the first chapters of TBV, I found myself missing some of the emotional depth and character development I had enjoyed in the anime. Boruto returns after three years, and suddenly he’s this cool, incredibly strong, and seemingly detached person. I understand that he has been through a lot and that his experiences may have changed him, but I sometimes wish the manga gave us more insight into his emotional state.
Does he ever feel lonely? Does he miss his old life? How does he cope with everything that has happened to him? How does he feel about Kawaki after everything he has done? I know that Boruto is focused on his goals and has to prioritize the current threats, but I still miss seeing more of his personal struggles and the emotional consequences of everything he has experienced.

I also find myself wondering about little everyday details. For example, where does Boruto sleep now that he can no longer live in the village? What does his daily life look like? How does he get by when he’s on his own?

I know these things might seem insignificant to some people, but I personally think they help make characters feel more human and relatable. Those little details are often what make me feel more connected to a story and its characters.

Despite these criticisms, I still really enjoy TBV! I think the story is compelling, and I’m genuinely curious to see where it goes. I just hope the story won’t come to an end once the Divine Trees are dealt with, and that there will still be more to explore…

Most of all, I really hope the anime adaptation of TBV will handle the emotional aspects in a similar way to the original Naruto Next Generations anime. I would love to see more character interactions, emotional moments, background information, and slice-of-life episodes alongside the main storyline.

I know not everyone enjoys anime-original content, and that’s completely fair. But for me, those episodes made the characters feel more real and gave their relationships so much more depth.

I don’t know, it just makes me a little sad to see so much negativity surrounding a series that I genuinely enjoy. I’ve had a great time watching the anime and reading the manga!

What do you guys think? Do you enjoy the anime-original episodes, or do you prefer the more focused storytelling of the manga? And do you think TBV would benefit from more character interactions and slice-of-life moments in its anime adaptation?

Anime / Discussion The sharingan is so easy to get

I feel like people don't talk about how easy it is to get the sharingan. With the introduction of Shin Uchiha and his clones, we can see it can easily be manufactured. What do you think about how easy it is to replicate?

Manga Spoilers / Discussion What things do you want the manga to focus more on? Spoiler

As a D1 hater of boruto I still keep up with the manga, while it's not peak to me like it's for others, the manga is probably at it's best considering it's the next generation's story. I'd really love to see some more character depth and development, villains with more than one dimentional writing and as an artist, probably improved art.

Manga Spoilers / Discussion Welp… Spoiler

For a monthly manga, the story progresses way too slowly. It wasn’t something that bothered me much before, but at this point, waiting an entire month for a mid chapter feels like a waste of time. I think I’m gonna stop reading until fall 2027. That’s it. That’s the post. Hope you guys enjoyed the new chapter that dropped last week.

Anime / Discussion After Boruto ends, how do you want the series to continue?

I think they could do a general “Naruto World" ensemble series. Sometimes Boruto and the next generation could be part of the stories, but they aren’t always the main characters. This would allow Naruto, Sasuke, the Konoha 12, and the other villages to breathe again.

Manga Spoilers / Discussion Latest chapter was boring and slow Spoiler

Anyone else tired with how slow the pace was for the last chapter?? I can't believe ikemoto is still wasting panels on facial expressions and empty bubbles.
