We’re in the northeast suburbs of Melbourne and have seen a couple of these over the past few months.
I assume some kind of arachnid but is it spider, mite or something I’m not aware of?
They’re very cute (look at their little feet!) and somewhere around 0.5-1cm long including the legs.
I’ve seen two on the ceiling and once found one in my vinyl cutting machine, so not even sure whether they’re shy or daring. They’re quite hard to photograph

Just spotted this cluster of insects hanging out on a hanging basket leaf, any idea what's going on or what they are?

I’m looking for a reliable and affordable website to purchase isopods from, specifically maybe a starter kit that comes with at least substrate and the terrarium/enclosure??
Thank you ^^

Seen on Mt Buffalo today. I say butterflies, but that's only based on them being colourful. For all I know they could be moths 😃. I saw a few of the first one flitting about, but this one landed at my feet. The 2nd was dead on the track, and the only one I saw.

Hey everyone, I went out on the balcony last night and saw tons of these critters roaming around. I wanna put out some plants so just concerned if they're a pest.
Edit for closure: went out tonight (they hide away in the day) and found them again. Can confirm they are springtails as I nudged a few and they teleported (jumped) away. Cool little critters.

Rescued from the back dock of my work (along with all the bogong moths that have ever existed). Located in Cooma, SE NSW. All rescues are performed via a sheet of paper as to not damage their wings.

According to iNaturalist, these are a pair of Australian Emperors (Anax papuensis). These very large dragonflies were laying their eggs in a shallow pond (actually a wastewater recycling facility) at Canowindra, NSW.
Video taken with Canon R10 and RF200-800 lens, handheld. And if anyone on this sub has advice on photographing / filming insects I'd be happy to hear it.
