Achievements

Achievement Description

Placesetting Write all your stories so they take place in the same universe (they don't have to be connected to each other)
The Plot Thickens Write so all stories are directly connected (harder than it sounds, especially since you have to find prompts that work with it!)
One Hand Behind My Back Add a different constraint of your choosing for every story you write, such as restricting certain words or requiring specific word limits or writing styles (for example: don't use the letter 'e' or write from the POV of an onlooker)
Themed Each week's work matches the Theme Thursday theme
Loquacious / Mute-ation Your work is all dialogue... or none! (Or alternate each time!)

Good luck everyone!

(Thanks to u/reostra for coming up with the tier and achievement system!)

I am completely new to Reddit. I just started actually using the site earlier this week. I wanted to get back into writing and I found this subreddit and a few others that I enjoy following so far. I've written several stories for prompts so far and I am enjoying it. I'm currently working on writing a book about a zombie apocalypse where some of the survivors actually plan on how to get the world somewhat back to normal instead of the normal chaos you find in zombie fiction. I've taken some writing prompts and really ran with them for longer stories and set them aside with a note on what I want to add to them.

I'm really looking forward to my time hanging out in here but for now,

I'm from the Midwest of the USA. I'm female. Only been really using Reddit for about a week, same with writing prompts. I use this sub to write mostly, with some light reading if I've got spare time.

I've been writing since I was younger but stopped due to hallucinations. I've recently found out that it's sleep paralysis or something like that but I'm trying to overcome it so I can continue writing. I love to convey a story that's 100% of my own fruition. The ideas and characters in my head are so overwhelming to me that I want them on paper, in writing, so others can enjoy them like I do.

I usually stick to Docs or the text box on Reddit to write all my work. I type on average, between 96 and 108 wpm though, my spelling can sometimes be, egregious at these speeds.

Welcome! FYI, you posted this on a 2 month old SatChat, so less likely anyone will see your introduction. But a new one is going up soon!

I am new here, so let me introduce myself. I am just entering year 8 and my passion is evidently english - I even managed a grade 9 on it on mock assessments! I found this subreddit around 2 months ago and have been adding to prompts ever since, and I have a collection of my stories on r/storiesplentiful (you don't need to check it out). I decided to challenge myself and will attempt the "race" category. So far I've managed one story each day though!

I am male, live in England (although was born in Poland), have been writing ever since I started school, I use google docs to write, my motivation is to challenge myself and do the best I can, I can type 96 words per minute, but can manage up to 110, I find prompts really useful when I can't think of an idea and yes - YES! - I write! <3

One story each day is a great accomplishment!

Would you like some userflair for your writing subreddit?

newbie here! just your typical cynical college student in the US of A, i don't use reddit but much have trawled through r/WritingPrompts before. aiming for marathon, though due to real life i may miss some days.

english is not my first language--i learned most of the language through storybooks and fell in love with writing that way. been writing (cringey) stories since 11, mostly just as a method of self-expression. i focus on character perspective: how their experiences shape how they think, how their thoughts shape how they act, how their actions shape who they are.

i write with google docs, where autocorrect is a godsend to my atrocious grammar. i type fast but write slow (think four words a minute slow).

looking excited to be part of this subreddit!

Hello, I am new here and am kind of late to this game but I will play. I just found this sub and posted my first response. I would love for someone to check it out.

My Mom really encouraged my writing and since we lost her a few years ago it was hard to find motivation. But with Covid and all, I have dove back in and will finish the novel she was helping me edit.

I will strive for a steady walk, but I should easily hit The NaNoWriMo. I need 1,500 words to tell any kind of story.

I write mainly SciFi and Fantasy but the one above was man vs nature and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
