Crazy to think all of them between Barça and Real

Even crazy is that every trio has either Ronaldo/Messi.

Further proved that they’re the 2 best players of all time imo

Yep.
I know that it's a risky thing to do, especially here, but I avoid getting in the argument of "Messi v Ronaldo."
They are different players, and, for me, equally talented. The fact that we are graced by them at the same time makes me happy, because I have to wonder when we might see that same sort of rivalry play out.

Ronaldo may have rivaled Messi's goalscoring numbers and had huge influence in big competitions but there's no way he's as talented as Messi in terms of ability.

I agree. I don’t bother with anyone who is into the Messi vs. Ronaldo thing... like if you seriously think one of them sucks you’re just stupid lmao
I do think Messi is the best of all time, but Ronaldo is a close second and more people should appreciate that we got to watch them in their primes. One of them would have been a treat, but we witnessed them battle for over a decade which is just crazy to think about.

i think any sane person will easily say they’re the best two playing right now, and probably the best two of all time. but to say they are equally talented is insane lol

Actually, it's Messi and or Ronaldo/Benzema and. Benzema is part of each of those Real trios, so it's not just a Ronaldo thing.

Crazy that Messi , Xavi and Fabregas are like in the middle of the list with two of them essentially being midfielders .

u/Tichano Apr 17 '21
Look at the numbers they were just along for the Messi ride that season.

u/Arslen24 Apr 17 '21
We shouldn’t forget that in that season, we also had Villa, Alexis, Pedro, Iniesta, and even Adriano and Alves came in with amazing outside the box goals every now and then.

My favorite NHL stat is top-scoring sibling duo:
Wayne and Brent Gretzky hold the NHL record for most combined points by two brothers - 2,857 for Wayne and 4 for Brent.
This feels the same.

I like how in 2011/12 they put messi, fàbregas and xavi not because they were the attacking/scoring trio but because messi scored so much that those were the best scorers after him. Insane.

2015/16 should've ended with the second consecutive UCL. Fucking Atleti only to choke against Madrid in the final...

u/Arslen24 Apr 17 '21
2015/16 we were unstoppable, going out with 7-0 6-0 wins and 4-0 in El Clasico, but in the most important phase of the season we shocked badly, we almost Lost La Liga and we underperformed against Atleti in the UCL, I remember that was a terrible month, with losses in El Clasico and against Valencia as well

It all started with an international break and if I remember correctly Cruyff died the same week.

Man, 4-0 vs Real when Messi sat for the large part of the game; 6-1 vs Roma as if it’s a tikitaka training; 6-1 Celta with that filthy penalty. This was destined to be another fruitful season until 2nd leg against Atleti.

Man that April was rough. I was really hoping we would win El Clasico as tribute to Johan.

The weird thing about Neymar is he not really considered a Barca legend himself by the community, but the MSN trio is absolutely the most legendary trio that has ever been.

He should have stayed a bit longer then. Could have ended up becoming a legend at one of the biggest clubs in the world. I know Brazilians find it difficult to stay at a single club throughout their career but we could have won another UCL with him only for him to leave us and keep crying like a b*tch everytime PSG were eliminated.

He is a legend. Just one that should have accomplished way more here and is a traitor

Never forget how extraordinary Barça 2008-2016 were. That is a fantastic squad that dominated a legendary Real Madrid. Messi and Ronaldo are a gift to us that won't be repeated for another 50 years, if ever. Quit expecting every season's squad to live up to those standards.

What made MSN great was not just their skillset, but how they worked together.

Think about what it felt like to be a defender against them.
"Oh no, Messi's got the ball! Gotta stop him at all costs!" "Sh*t, he just passed it to Neymar, we need to foul him quick!!" "He's crossing it inside the box to... Suarez! NoNoNoNo!!!!"
