That ending hit me like a train out of nowhere and I just started sobbing immediately.

Tahani smirking in the background when Chidi made the snap decision to ethics and chill with Eleanor was so cute

Everyone talks about the note, which certainly got me, too, but what completely broke me was the way Eleanor just begins to look hopeful at the end. Her face is so amazingly expressive. It's similar, but much happier, to the amazing kindness in her face at the end of series 3 when she says "Hi, Chidi. Come on in." That she can find the ability to be so kind and loving after having lost the love of the person she loves is just heart wrenching to me. I think she's an amazing actress!

At the time I thought this was the last episode, and the idea of it ending with just a hint of the re-kindling of their relationship was incredibly wrenching.

Kinda late to the party. I was kinda iffy on the first half of season 4 because we didn't get the dynamic of the main 6 together but these last 2 episodes have been great and now we're actually seeing it become full circle. I feel like this show is definitely way more appreciated when binged too.

When they first started giving Chidi back all of his memories, there was a flash of a scene with a massive open field with a massive lake, wide open skies, plenty of rainbows, it seemed like paradise. Could this be the Garden of Eden? If so, they really gave us a glimpse into what the end game may be for this show.

Edit: upon a recent rewatch, I found the open lake and rainbow scene present when Michael is first creating the town. That just raises further questions. Like, what is he doing with that memory in his head? Was he one of the original architects? What's his deal with always finding not just answers, but the answer? Why did he talk like an adult when he was just a little kid? I have more, but I'm exhausted.

Season 3 ending where Eleanor and Chidi were watching the montage..

There was a scene where Eleanor kissed Chidi in the alley...

It was shown here. Holy call back

I think the fork is, in part, a reference to Hume's fork https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hume%27s_fork

His girlfriend mentions Hume in their break-up.

It's also a call back to the first time we saw him kiss Eleanor. He said he was going to stop making excuses like "his brain was grinding like a fork in a garbage disposal."

Hume's fork

Hume's fork is an explanation, developed by later philosophers, of David Hume's 1730s division of "relations of ideas" from "matters of fact and real existence". A distinction is made between necessary versus contingent (concerning reality), a priori versus a posteriori (concerning knowledge), and analytic versus synthetic (concerning language). Relations of abstract ideas align on one side (contingent, a posteriori, synthetic), whereas concrete truths align on the other (necessary, a priori, analytic). The "necessary" is generally true in all possible worlds—usually by mere logical validity—whereas the "contingent" hinges on the way the real world is. The a priori is knowable before or without, whereas the a posteriori is knowable only after or through, experience in an area of interest.

What a forking great episode. The discovery that there is no "answer" is actually the real answer, much like the flawed points system.Human behavior is non-linear & there is no real answer on how to capture that via a mechanical system.

Now to wait till Jan.
