Reminded me of when Bojack would leave a really personal voicemail to someone and would always end it with something like “... it’s Bojack by the way. Horseman... obviously.”

Roman bought a football team. An entire fucking football team and got THE WRONG ONE. It’s too perfect.

What’s hilarious is he went to seduce the guy and ended up getting sold on buying something worthless.

Yeah, I agree. I also felt that Roman had to be wrong about Hearts over Hibs due to the fact that Hibs are more of a “Catholic” team. There would have been more of a sectarian angle between those two clubs in Logan’s youth.

I think Logan has respected Greg since he stood up to be being brushed off and told him exactly what he needed back in the pilot. He recognizes Greg's ability to communicate clearly with him is something none of his children possess and respects it.

That line killed me and I kinda wish it was my name now so that I could use that line IRL. I only know one Greg and I work with him, so I’ll probably be spending the next month waiting for my opportunity to sneak that line in during a meeting and I’ll end up forcing it and it won’t be funny.

When making pancakes, the first one is usually not great. The pan is dry so it burns and forma weird. But after that the pan is prepared to make great pancakes. She was saying Conner was the crappy tester child since hes first born

The first pancake is usually the worst one (it has something to do with the heat of the pan) and professional cooks usually throw them out as duds.

Yes, I caught that too. You really have to watch everyone's faces in this show, I love it.
19
u/Honduran Nov 01 '21
I wonder how they choreograph those. Of course, they’re actors. But do the writers let them know what emotions to convey? It’s a lot to communicate just through expressions (which are often in the background).
132
u/ThatCaviarIsAGarnish Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19
I liked how they kept it so vague. Connor was speculating but he had no real information, so Roman has no way of knowing if it ever actually happened or not.

u/Faileby Mar 31 '26
I am very late to the party, but I dont quite understand why Logan even gave it a single thought. I wouldve expected him to just brush it off with a "well, do whatever you want" or "was nice working with you" just to be nice to some NPC that Greg is to him.
Why would he care? Is it purely out of spite for his brother? Does he just love to manipulate people? What is it? It feels like Logan just wants to win, even if the outcome is irrelevant

I met a couple girls from Dundee when I was backpacking a few years ago and they told me they hated their home town and its nickname was Scumbee, so if anything I think in this universe that's what the Dundees would be called. The Scumbees. Either way, every one in the Roy family wins a Scumbee.

Can you imagine having so many houses that you don't even recognize them in pictures as your own?
294
u/LikesGreenTea Sep 30 '19
I thought that scene was also referring to the "Logan is getting old and losing it" storyline. All the meds that he's on sharpen his focus, but not necessarily his memories.

I don't think that they were all the houses that they currently own but all the ones they had lived in growing up, which would including things like the summer palace as well as the main residence of the time.
6
u/wildsoda Sep 30 '19
Right. I actually lived in 8 different apartments before I turned 18 -- but only one at a time (due to divorce, moving, etc). I would recognize any of them from photos. My point is that he has owned multiple houses, in places all around the world no doubt, and so many houses that he can't even keep track of them. To people that rich houses are something you can replace as easily as a pair of shoes.

I've thought about this all day.
I think he was proposing exactly what he said he was: marriage, but their own version of it. Exactly how they have their own version of sex, what Roman wants is that kind of...variation...on marriage. Sadistic, disciplinarian, cold & impersonal but very connected.
I can't wait to see how this turns out. So far Geri's been down for everything he's proposed.

Anyone else wondering how Uncle Ewan got to Scotland? They made a pretty big deal about how he refuses to fly.
311
u/dimedrop55 Sep 30 '19
He probably took a Waystar transatlantic cruise.
33
u/TeddysBigStick Sep 30 '19
Ewan really needs a giant yacht running on bunker fuel, while talking about climate change. The hypocracy must flow!
49
u/Scwilliam2 Sep 30 '19
Even the most righteous compromise. Logan may have a point with his brother sometimes.
73
u/BrahbertFrost Sep 30 '19
I think that’s why Ewan is so prickly. He hates himself for taking his brother’s blood money. Even if it didn’t poison his morals, it poisoned his soul for sure
43
u/happy-gofuckyourself Sep 30 '19
*all the time. He is living off his brother and hates himself for it and is therefore angry all the time.
26
u/El_Giganto Dec 17 '21
Man I wish I watched this when it was airing. Way late to this now.
I didn't notice the part about him refusing to fly, but it must have happened in the episode Greg picked him up. Did they mention why he refuses?
In this episode he does mention climate change specifically as the reason why Logan is worse than Hitler. That could be the same reason he refuses to fly. And if that's the case, it makes sense not to fly when you can travel by car. But if you can't take a car, it makes sense to bend the rules a bit.

Maybe they were just re-recording lines? Seems like way too big of a continuity error to mix up audio and video like that.
17
u/IamDocbrown Sep 30 '19
Maybe but requiring the audience to have to assume thats the case without being certain would be just as big of a continuity error IMO.
I’m leaning towards it just being a mistake.
Also, during the audio recording session they didn’t know what they were going to say so it wasn’t an over dub session. On Kendall’s way in, Rom told him to say something about trying to kill dad and take over.

Executive level coldness all night. Shiv, Scheming to kill Rhea all episode, then letting Rhea take the CEO job when she learns whoever has it is gonna get vivisected. Logan seeming uneasy and lacking confidence which is its own kind of spooky. Marcia threatening to take Rhea’s soul or her eye fighting over Logan. Then Kendal pretending to be too busy to break up with his new girl and sending someone else to fly her back to New York. Just a very cold episode.

u/Tigerlittle Sep 30 '19
The sad part is that he's definitely going to stay with Logan because Greg's one of the breakout stars of the show so they won't put him in a less visible role. Logan seemed completely content with Greg leaving until he mentioned Ewan was the reason he was trying to negotiate the Gregxit. Logan's going to keep him on the hook even if it means Greg losing 250 million. Logan would rather his grand-nephew lose out on a fortune than have his brother have even a modicum of power over him.
