I mean the people weren't nearly as excited for the event at the time, people were like "oh good another Minecraft tournament"

I can't believe they only had one day to do: team mcci practice, full team vod review, and predictions. What was noxcrew thinking. /j obviously

I'm currently watching the Kyan Kentipedes talk about how Purple was only put together a few days before the event.
Apparently MCC1 was a lot less organized than MCC is now

scott struggled finding 40 creators interested in the event.
now he has a hard time picking which 40 creators should be in the event since the rosters quite big now

Fun fact: Pink Parrots was only announced 20 minutes before the event started.

do you mean literally 20 minutes? cuz watching the noxcrew's admin pov of mcc1 the other day they started streaming around 20 minutes before the event and every member of the pink parrots were in front of the camera pressing buttons. so you can technically get completely spoiled of the surprise (though according to them there were only one or two people watching the stream)

The thing is no one knew about it prior to MCC 1. So people weren't waiting unlike today when a lot of people wait for teams to be released.

I remember that some teams were literally finalized the day of the event some participant like Quig and Dave were invited almost an hour before the event

Side Note: I thought MCC1 team announcements were lost for some reason, but no, I found the first ever team announcement: https://twitter.com/MCChampionship_/status/1195778564118994944
