Off Topic [OT] Spotlight: Ninjoobot
Writers Spotlight
This week's spotlight writer is ninjoobot.
Dr. Ninjoo is a fan-favorite around the discord. He isn't a marvel just because of his great stories and poems, but also because of the extra challenges he gives himself. On the themed posts, he's been known to ask for up to three additional constraints for the pieces and somehow manages to meet them. You are most impressive!
Congratulations, /u/ninjoobot!
Spotlight relies on your nominations. If you see a writer who has been around the sub for a while, who has at least six (or more!) high quality submissions, and who hasn't been given the Spotlight before, send us a modmail and let us know!
Here are some of the top stories u/ninjoobot has written for WP:

Hey Congratulations, u/Ninjoobot! Much proudo!
So, what did you really do with all that money?

If I told I'd have to...you know. So I guess I'll go ahead and tell you. ;-).
Faberge eggs. It's a very expensive addiction. But they're so delicious and crunchy.
(I was so tempted to just go with W.C. Fields on this one: “I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The other half I wasted.”)

Thanks! It's an honor to join the ranks of the greats that have been spotlighted before me (and those to come). I look forward to answering your questions!

Congratulations Ninjoo! Also super unoriginal, but what's your favorite piece of writing you've posted to the sub?

Thanks!
I wrote a ridiculous poem about video games and PowerPoint a while back that was super fun. I think it turned out well and I like to think my 12-year-old self would be proud of me for doing it (and I wish I could tell that 12-year-old self that poems about video games are totally allowed): https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/comments/ckvsnk/wp_youve_accidentally_kidnapped_someone_and_the/evrx8wy/?context=3
And my entry into the almost-finished poetic ending contest. It's one of a few things I've written where I was very happy with what I created and the feedback I received was all very positive. It will be a chapter of a book I'm working on, so it's nice to see people enjoy a taste of it: https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/comments/d5nchy/pi_only_cerulean_blue_will_suffice_poetic_2634/

Ninjoo. As the WP king of writing restraints, there is only one question I need to ask.
What are the top few (let's say three to five) constraints anyone has ever given you to challenge your writing? Whether they were fun, ridiculous, made you chuckle etc.

Future perfect tense only and no single-syllable words were by far the most difficult. No e's was really fun since it made me explore the depths of my vocabulary (and the thesaurus) and get creative grammatically.
And all the rest are always fun, whether it's something with particular letters, specific word count, settings, words, etc., it gives me something to help me grow as a writer.

Congrats Doc, you already know I'm in awe of your abilities. I'm gonna be super unoriginal and ask what brought you to rWP and do you have a favorite constraint you've been given?
You deserve that sweet SL banner, and I can't wait to keep reading more of your stuff!

Thanks, Cody! I stick around here and the discord for people like you that push and support me that I can also push and support in return. As for your questions:
I found this sub when I had hit a bit of a wall with my writing. I felt I needed to become a better writer and I had a nasty case of creative writer's block. A friend suggested I try pushing myself as a writer and explore poetry more, so I started browsing around reddit and found this community. The prompts and constraints were just what the doctor ordered and have taken me out of my slump and pushed me in the right ways. Reading all the great stories here also inspires my be seeing the wonderful ways other people approach stories.
My favorite constraints are acrostics. In the spare time of my spare time I design puzzles and games, and doing something like that is a really fun puzzle for me to solve.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know you designed puzzles and such. If you have a moment, do you care to elaborate on that?
