[P] HyperThread Introducing the Modi Government Meter - An /r/IndiaSpeaks Community Initiative

Hey Everyone!

Happy 2nd Birthday to /r/IndiaSpeaks!!

On this auspicious day, we are starting with something new!

This is the Introductory post of /r/IndiaSpeaks initiative to build a community crowd sourced Modi Government Meter. This can also be called HyperThread to introduce the HyperWiki for short.

We aim provide a realistic gauge of how our current central government is performing, where every one of their Promises are translating.

This will also include those policies they did not promise but implemented via Retcon - which loosely translates to decisions taken after coming to power, and not covered in their Promises or Manifesto.

Please find the Summary in our wiki link mentioned below:

The Modi Government Meter HyperWiki

If you want to Participate in collecting, populating, analyzing, challenging or scrutinizing the data - You can visit the Individual threads below. This is the place for both Pro-government, anti government, neutral data lovers, news analyzers, etc to shine.

1. Promises MegaWiki

2. Retcon MegaWiki

3. Completed Targets (Achievements) MegaWiki

4. In Progress MegaWiki

5. Incomplete and Shelved Targets MegaWiki

Initial Schedule

  1. Mods will first update all the promises in the manifesto into the promises list.

  2. 16th March, 2018 : Discussion Thread on framing a list of Remaining Promises and Retcon promises - Part I.

  3. 21rd March, 2018: Discussion Thread on 1st Policy of Section 1 in the Policy MegaWiki - "Price Rise"

  4. 24th March, 2018: Progress Review

Other dates will come as we progress. Please keep referring to the sidebar for updates.

While the introductory thread will be stickied for a few days - please note that this is a Long Term Project. Cataloguing information will take time by the community and is vital to reach completion before the next general elections.

Feel free to check out the current release of the 1 + 5 wiki Pages.

Ask away any doubts that you have, or suggestions to improve. We will begin after most basic doubts are cleared.

Awesome. That's a good start. Will have to go through the data through, because it will need scrutiny. Secondly we are not going to look at every tiny thing - but that needs to be seen what can be called noteworthy.

Lastly, certain polices are just continuation of the old government's intentions/policies (especially international sphere). They need to be checked if it is a continuation or present govt thing.

We want both people of both sides of the spectrum to help in this.

Regardless, please let me know how you'd like to be cited when we start this process.

Edit: holy moly, that's around 1100 news links.

Thanks. Just doing it in some spare time whenever possible. I have not done any analysis right now. Was planning to do it but too much data and not enough time.

Kindly cite the post linked here if possible. http://jjamwal.in/yayavar/bjp-government-achievement-tracking-1/

This is awesome. Kudos to you on maintaining this. I know there were discussions to build website like TrudeauMeter. Is there a Git repo for it where we can contribute?

Any idea who maintains this website?

A government that gives hope to its citizens that itvis going to act is an achievement. I don't recall seeing anything even close to this during any of the previous governments. Great initiative none the less. Thanks guys for making efforts to make the Government answerable to the citizens to an extent.

u/metaltemujin Change completed targets as achievements. Also how about we start with achivements thread that will be running for a month. Everyone will participate in thread, the data collected will be compiled into this wiki link. And will be displayed in the side bar?

It would be false narrative. Everything the government does can be seen as an achievement.

We need to know what they set out to do, how much of it was achieved and how much was course correction.

3

u/kalmuah Mar 13 '18

na i am not talking about everything. only completed targets as achievements

Can we use Polimeter for this?

1

u/metaltemujin Mar 14 '18

We can use this as a back up repository, for images, and so on. We'd still like to have the discussions on this sub, before deciding any posts/updates there.
