The moment I saw the thread on r/eu4 I knew it was going to be locked and probably end up on here.

I generally like r/eu4 a lot, but like every forum dedicated to Paradox grand strategy games it has a certain vocal contingent who probably get a little too much joy out of exterminating savages and purging heathens

Back in EU3 I spent centuries intermarrying with Christian Ethiopia trying to get a black king of Portugal. It never worked, but Ethiopia was a great ally. Every time I went to war with Castile or Austria those little spearmen came trooping up the Nile to help.

trust me i run a multiplayer group of 25ish people for victoria. one of pdox other games, set in the age of imperialism, and ive met a couple of downright nazis, and hardcore racists.

Paradox has a huge base of literal nazis in their fandom. It's why their so strict about flags and certain events on their forums. Paradox fan base is so strange, you've got a bunch of neo-nazis, various nationalist and then a bunch if people who are very fond of anarco-syndicalism.

This is actually a joke about how Paradox games handle labeling the map. Colonies are labeled "[Owning Country's Adjective] [Name of Region]", so it's possible to actually have part of the map be labeled "American America".
See also this screenshot, where something has clearly gone horribly wrong with the algorithm, or this one, featuring Polish Poland.

Im more amazed by the fact that they managed to get Syrian culture in the New World. Im guessing they started as the Ottomans or the Mamluks and managed to Westernize and then colonize... somehow before the other countries like Portugal and Castile did.
