Reuploaded because many of the phases I used in the previous version had some flags that were from...less than reliable sources. So I cut 'em out.

Anyway, yeah, mantle has been taken from u/3_tankista since he stepped down.

Medes -> Achaemenids -> Macedon -> Sassanids -> Umayyad Caliphate -> Abbasid Caliphate and Saffarid Dynasty -> Seljuq Empire -> Mongols and Khwarazm Sultanate -> Ilkhanate -> Safavid Dynasty -> Afsharid Dynasty -> Qajar Dyasty -> Pahlavi Dynasty -> Iran

Just to be clear, that Ancient Mongol flag is kosher? I may want to use it for a comic in the near-ish future.

Iran spends such a long time progressing, only to go insanely backwards in 1979.

GG Iran.

Blame the people who dumped the democratrically elected PM for the authoritarian monarch who pushed all the resistance into the mosques in the first place.

Why can't Sassanid see? He can't capture Roman emperors if he can't see.
