Two episodes in and Felicity is already completely unbearable.
She's still just so self righteous and indignant in everything she does. She never faces any consequences no matter what she does or who she does it to. Hell, the people she wrongs usually end up apologizing to her. It's just so infuriating to watch.

EXACTLY. That makes all the difference. I'm okay with Felicity fucking up and having flaws if the show is self aware and doesn't try to distort reality to make her be in the right.

u/ALANJOESTAR Oct 23 '18
yeah but still, she gets off to easy lol. Like someone atleast should at her and tell her what the hell are you doing felicity not everything is about you. Because in all honesty she should be in prison for the stuff she pulled this episode alone lol friends or not Diggle should have done something lmao she is out of control.

u/ShelleySlater25 Oct 23 '18
Shes just one big fuck up. Oliver asks her to do one thing while he is in fucking prison for some type of feeling of security while hes ln there and she does the exact opposite putting her life at risk

I always the Longbow Hunters were more of a team of four. I'm betting that guy in prison is their 4th. Well, I guess team of 5 with Diaz.
He's there to screw with and keep an eye on Oliver.

I just tuned in waiting for Legends DID THESE BITCHES REALLY JUST HACK A TRAIN TO SEPARATE CABLE CARS?!??!

Whenever Felicity/Curtis are hacking something I tune out so that I don't go crazy watching this show. So I completely missed how ridiculous that was until I read your comment.

u/selwyntarth Oct 23 '18
Also didnt diaz conjure a flame thrower into his arms when he had arms raised a moment ago? Is diggles long jump even possible? He galloped both legs twice mid air.
63
u/Pale-Guy Oct 23 '18
Also what was with the shield? Is he like guardian now or was that a straight trashcan lid? Because if that was just like a lid his hands and gloves would be fused together
6
u/selwyntarth Oct 23 '18
It seemed like the kinetic energy absorption black panther uses.
Did you get what dig meant when he said felicity compromised the op? The longbow hunters had evacuated their warehouse right?
And how did oliver and his friend set off that explosion to go look at the computer?
Could you tell me what happened in the last few minutes after the train carriages split? My video doesnt cover that.
15
u/albedo2343 Oct 23 '18
Did you get what dig meant when he said felicity compromised the op? The longbow hunters had evacuated their warehouse right?
pretty sure she activated a virus that wiped their hard drives, and i don't think they evacuated just left.
And how did oliver and his friend set off that explosion to go look at the computer?
he used a makeshift slingshot to shoot pencil piece into the lights(i do feel lights in prisons would be harder to break though), so it wasn't an explosion.
Could you tell me what happened in the last few minutes after the train carriages split? My video doesnt cover that.
Felicity admits she was wrong about Diggle not honouring Oliver, but realizes and confesses she can't work with somebody who's priority is not Diaz, so she goes to work with the FBI agent instead.
this is the Oliver scene
this is the william scene
Laurel goes to the police precinct to tell Dinah she's gonna accept the protective detail, and also gives a heartfelt apology to Dinah for Vince( she talks about how even though Quentin wasn't the man who raised her, he reminded her what it felt like to have someone who cared about her, and losing him was the greatest pain she's felt for a while, and she could only imagine how Dinah after she killed Vince, she understood that Dinah might never forgive her, but hopes she eventually realizes she is no longer that person)
10
u/Mick009 Oct 23 '18
The guy just looked really strong and resilient, a bit like Mirakuru. Diggle hit him a few times and he was barely fazed.
She compromised the OP by rushing in. The Longbow Hunters had a failsafe and when Felicity, René and Curtis entered, it triggered the deletion of their computer files which Argus could have used.
Ollie made a makeshift slingshot with a bottle. He used a piece of a broken pencil to blow the lights out.
Felicity had a bit of a tantrum and goes to work with the FBI agent that brokered a deal with Ollie last season. Meanwhile, Ollie confronts the guard and makes it look like the guard stabbed him so that he gets taken away by his colleagues. Roy and William dig to find a grave but they find Ollie's bow. There's a hidden message that Roy reads but burns before William or us could learn what it said. They prepare to leave for Star City.
3
u/Pale-Guy Oct 23 '18
Honestly I have no idea I didn't give it my full attention. Felicity whinny cried to the remaining team arrow out for not getting Diaz. Olvier made it look like a guard stabbed him then Roy and the kid did some ambiguous shit
3
u/fantomora Oct 23 '18
I rewatched it when I saw that, he only raised one hand, the other was left in his coat. It was a weird transition but it cut back to him at the very end of him pulling it out.
31
5
u/NaoSouONight Oct 23 '18
Not to mention the computer program to predict someone's behavior, someone who they basically have no data about for the past 5 months. So the computer is apparently to work with very outdated data and most of it invalid.
4
u/Waltonruler5 Oct 25 '18
The absolute worst part of making Felicity a team member was magicing away everything interesting that needed to be done.
Oliver has to sneak stealthily into a place? No worries, Felicity hacked the door.
Oliver has to track a person if interest to figure out where they're going? Worry not, Felicity hacked their cellphones.
Oliver needs to recover information on the bad guy's plan? All is solved, Felicity hacked their diary.
Trains can be hacked.
Money can be hacked.
Guns can be hacked.
The entire world is a smart city from Watch_Dogs, everything can be hacked.

Cannot accept a technology based train being infiltrated but it's perfectly accepting of the concept of a giant stuffed toy fighting a demon 🙄 sit down buddy
10
u/Pale-Guy Oct 23 '18
Aren't all trains based in technology? I never argued that they couldn't... infiltrate a train? Yeah I can accept Legends finale because it made sense in the context of a show that prides itself on creating insanely creative plotlines while keeping a very relaxed a humorous tone. I don't know about you but I remember watching that finale and enjoying it, I can't say the same for Arrow

If they don’t take further advantage of the clear dynamic the two have imma be real mad
15
u/OLKv3 Oct 24 '18
I felt for Dinah when Laurel kept talking about how she needs to avenge Lance's death. You know she's using a massive amount of restraint to not just do the exact same thing to Laurel
4
u/Cusemanmike Oct 29 '18
Juliana Harkavy is the main reason I'm sticking around still. Black Canary has always been a favorite of mine and I'm pumped they are FINALLY utilizing her more this season. Katie Cassidy definitely got the shit end of the stick but their chemistry is what I thought made their arc the most compelling one in this episode.

Pros and cons of the episode for me
-
Cons:
-
Diaz is a really shit fighter and a shit villain in general still for some god awful reason
-
Longbow Hunters are underwhelming
-
Felicity was unbearable
-
Pros:
-
Prison scenes are good and honestly they’re shot a lot better than the scenes outside of prison for some reason?
-
Flash forwards are interesting
-
Black Siren redemption

Prison scenes are good and honestly they’re shot a lot better than the scenes outside of prison for some reason?
Because it focuses on Oliver and his goal at hand - something which has always produced great quality episodes. Implementing Felicity, other vigilantes, and William definitely produced some great scenes, but overall, it didn't help. Look back at Season 1 and 2, when it was just Oliver, Diggle, Quentin, Laurel, Olivers fam, Tommy & Merlyn, and Slade (not going to include other minor characters & Shados/characters from flashbacks). That was a great show, but over time as more characters got introduced, storylines had to change and less emphasis was on Oliver. Prison scenes are like a classic season 1 episode :D
38
u/seemylolface Oct 23 '18
Nailed it. The show needs to get back to it's roots so badly and actually focus on the character that is meant to be the central hero of the story. It's insane to me that they'd take so much focus away from Oliver, like what's even the point of calling it Arrow anymore?
6
u/MrZer Oct 24 '18
Who would've known making the show focused on the green arrow would bring good results.
1
u/sparxthemonkey Oct 25 '18
The show is still focusing on Oliver and his struggle. But it's clearly not the only story the writers are telling, And it shouldn't be. I mean, heaven forbid we get flash forwards of William and Roy, and character development from Black Canary.
13
u/antigravitytapes Oct 23 '18
DAE notice Felicity had a cold or something? her throat was extra raspy this episode.
5
u/Chodasaurus Oct 23 '18
The prison scenes are better because they’re different in one aspect: everyone knows he’s GA. It’s a wonderful dynamic. Every other show in which the main character goes to prison it’s because they’re framed and trying to bide time until their name is clear. This is different

IKR? With a name like that, you expect a bunch of awesome archers who have spent years training to become the world's deadliest archers, kind of like the Yuyan Archers from Avatar. Not a bunch of S.H.I.E.L.D wannabes.

u/Skarmotastic Oct 27 '18
That's never who they were in the comics, but this iteration of them introduces 2 new characters in Kodiak and Silencer.

u/ArsenalTG Oct 23 '18
The prison scenes and flash forwards are good and I love it but every time it transitions to Felicity and Dig I just immediately zone out. And the Laurel redemption looks pretty promising so far. Was a pretty solid episode I’d say, season 7 looks alright so far.
179
u/Shalaiyn Oct 23 '18
It's so unrealistic. Digg should've had her escorted off the premises, Hell, arrested her, a few times in just this one episode.
70
1
u/ClikeX Oct 28 '18
How is Felicity even getting inside of Argus in the first place. She shouldn't even have the clearance for it.
-24
u/snake202021 Oct 23 '18
You realized you are calling a COMIC BOOK show unrealistic...COMIC!
22
u/Shalaiyn Oct 23 '18
But there's unrealistic because of magic/tech/acrobatics that aren't possible achieving something, and there's unrealistic in the sense of basic human interaction that should not differ in real life and fiction.

u/djanulis Oct 23 '18

This! Oh my god, THIS! The first episode was awesome, and this one sucked ass in every way except for the prison scenes. Felicity is an intolerable character AND actress. Dinah is fine as hell but that drama between her and Laurel - blahhhh!. Curtis is annoying as shit, and at the risk of being banned for life, they went and made William fucking gay. Come on, man. Diggle and arrow are cool as hell; the rest of them suck. I'll keep watching, but not live, so I can forward to the good stuff.

7
u/ShelleySlater25 Oct 23 '18
Felicity sucks. The acting for dig has seemed to have gotten worse in later seasons imo
6
u/greatness101 Oct 23 '18
It just feels like they really don't know what to do with Dig the last few seasons.
0
u/mrizzle1991 Oct 23 '18
I agree with that, I thought Felicity would be less of an annoyance this season but I guess not. And I was thinking that she would go back to that hacker group instead of the detective.

u/Metroidman Oct 23 '18
Felicity do some pretty great mental gymnastics in order to always be the victim in every scenario she's ever been in in her life

Character development is something Arrow doesn't know about. Felicity will be the same shit forever.

58
u/BigHaircutPrime Oct 23 '18
Well there's the Felicity we know and love.... Good lord she's going to give me a brain aneurysm. She's doesn't listen to authority, compromises a mission, and then when Diggle's basically up against the wall, bitches that he chooses to live versus die. Had he stayed, it would have been four against one... WTF Felicity. I get what she wants, but she blindly thinks that anyone who dares stand in her way is a prick or something. Everyone last week was like, "wow she's changed," and in the back of my mind I was thinking, "No she has not, just watch."
Everything else about the episode was decent. No great, but decent. I don't know why they didn't give a proper introduction to the Longbow Hunters, but at least things kept moving forward. I was pleasantly surprised by Oli's solution, and I really dig that Laurel and Dinah are slowly bonding. I also like that Laurel's starting to resemble more the classic Black Canary with the leather jacket and blond hair (did she dye it lighter?). The BIGGEST plus though was that whenever Curtis or Felicity were talking about tech, they didn't crack any stupid jokes or sound awkward, and no one asked them to "speak English." That was incredibly refreshing.
Edit: spelling

Comments:
You know it's funny, after hearing about the Longbow Hunters last season, I never really bothered looking them up to read about them. It hadn't really occurred to me that they weren't mercenaries who used, y'know, longbows.
You know, for someone who constantly bitches about people not consulting her, Felicia sure does love deciding what to do and then forcing people to go along with it. Yeah sure, just use your friend's computer to hack his employer while ignoring his protests. Yeah sure, take his Tech Sphere and go off on your stupid plan. It's okay because you always get your fucking way in the end and everyone will apologize for ever questioning you.
The resolution with the Silence lady was hilariously cut. The Canaries scream her into a wall, Dinah draws her gun, neither of them look away from Silence lady at any point, and then it cuts to Silence lady dashing out of the room. Like... Laurel? Dinah? You... you literally were just watching her, they didn't even bother writing in a distraction.
Diaz continues his streak of not being able to beat literally anyone in a fair fight except that random minion from last season.
All that said, the silent fights were pretty cool, and Oliver's plot is great, I just wish we got more of it.

Once you realize he's basically an abuse victim being controlled and walked all over by a manipulative asshole, it's hard not to empathize with him a bit. I've kind of been rooting for him ever since Felicia's whole "hey cool tech you're working on, we're now running a business together so I can profit off your ideas I already forged your name on all the documents yaaaaaaay me!" idiocy. And how she basically just takes his tech and endangers his job without sparing a thought to his protests.

Pretty disappointing that Diaz gets to be the big bad evil for a SECOND season when we had way better villians in the past. Diaz is a D-level villians at best. No super powers, no super intelligence, and just brute anger and strength. And he can't kill even one defenseless woman.

You don’t consider orchestrating the entire conflict between Oliver and Cayden intelligent? He’s took over the whole city right under Oliver’s nose. He’s got some smarts.
But other than that, he’s been an embarrassment since after he killed Cayden
55
u/peanutbutteroreos Oct 23 '18
I think Oliver was super dumb. What kind of mayor thinks it's a good idea to give millions of dollars under the table to a blackmailing criminal?!
Also, Diaz couldn't kill one team member from Team Arrow. Couldn't even kill a kid and a woman with no fighting skills or strong weapons. At least Darkh was able to kill someone.

If it turns into a Joker/Mob dynamic from TDK with the Longbow Hunters (who don't use longbows) it could work.
192
Oct 23 '18
You know, I was willing to give Felicity another chance this season but the writers seem determined to make as many people dislike her as possible. Papa Dig needed to kick her the hell out, and yet he was still willing to be understanding after all that went down. Instead of being thankful, she gets indignant and takes off in a prissy huff. Good riddance Felicity gtfo, you don't deserve to work with Diggle anyway.
70
39
u/notathrowaway75 Oct 23 '18

I wouldn't call that a "prissy huff" at all. She apologized and left after explaining that she wouldn't be able to work with Diggle.
9
u/NaoSouONight Oct 23 '18
How much do you want to bet that she is going to get in the way of ARGOS's investigation directly or indirectly with her actions and weird obsession with catching Diaz herself?
1
19
u/Curryboy2day Oct 23 '18
Well, she's an emotional wreck. Like, imagine this: you've been working with the Green Arrow for the past 5-6 years. He's actually your husband. Your life has constantly been in danger essentially every day of that period. You sort of get used to that life, get used to the system of your husband (Green Arrow) saving the day, every single time. Now there's a kid involved. And now, the man that you married is gone. That system you got used to is gone. Stuff feels weird. There is a Green Arrow, but there isn't(?). Then you have to change your entire lifestyle which you grew accustomed to to that of a barista and be a mother for a kid that barely acknowledges you as a mother figure.. And before even the slightest sense of normalcy can set in, you're forced out of that again. You're attacked by a crazed gang lord, who even the Green Arrow couldn't beat.
Shit doesn't make sense.
And you expect her to behave normally considering that? Nah man, when you think about what she's been through, and learn to look past the poor writing, Felicity has been through a helluva lot and certain behaviours start to make sense.
20
u/NaoSouONight Oct 23 '18
That is a terrible excuse. Seriously. Nearly every single person in the team is just as bad or even worse emotional place and they aren't behaving that way.
What Felicity really lost here, to be completely honest? Her SO, Oliver, is in jail. She is still a free woman, her name is clean and she has all her skills and health. Not to mention they have only known each other for 6-7 years and dated for less than that. If her entire life revolves around someone she only met for 6-7 years and has no other aspirations or things to hold her up, that is on her.
Meanwhile Dinah's SO, who she knew for longer, DIED in front of her.
Curtis marriage fell apart and Felicity constantly guilt trips him into putting his job in jeopardy.
Laurel's father died and she knows Diaz is out to get her personally for her betrayal.
Oliver is ACTUALLY in jail and knowing his family is in danger.
William lost his mom, his dad is in jail and he had to be sent away to a strange place where he doesn't know anyone and he has to be someone he isn't. And he is a child.
Everyone has been through just as much, and some of them even worse, than her and they aren't behaving like her. That is no excuse. It is truly an unlikeable behavior.

I was so happy when Diaz found her in the other episode. I was cheering for him to shoot her. I hate her character so fucking much. It actually makes me angry watching the show. The only thing her character should have been was what she was in season 1 before she knew Oliver was the hood.

Alright Oliver’s friend makes me uncomfortable. At first he was just annoying.
But now I can tell there is clearly something off about him. He seemed way too eager to threaten the guards family.
And his excuse about how he knew what happened to Diaz guy is suspicious. No way he just heard it in the prison gossip,

I so far love the flash forwards(of course I’ll like anything that has Roy in it)
-
I’m also really exited for the prison storylines and where they go
-
So far I’m liking the black siren and canary dynamics and plot lines
-
Felicity, well, no further explanation needed except meh
-
As far as Diaz is concerned he probably is only going to be in it for a few episodes and not the entire season. If he is, however, he probably won’t be the main focus.
6 although i thought the longbow hunters were a bit underwhelming, it is still early in the season I’m willing to give them a chance.
Overall I thought it was a great episode and I’m looking forward to what’s next!

The flash forwards have me hooked. The prison scenes are badass. Dinah and Laurel teaming up was really cool to see. Felicity whining is still annoying af. How is she going to take down Diaz, whine him to death?
