They really need to give a reason why Black Siren can't just kill Diaz. She melted a guy's brains a couple of months ago. Despite her newfound distaste for killing, she can't buck up for a few seconds and end a guy who she knows is awful and terrifies her? Ridiculous.

Some of the responses on Twitter shitting on this episode because Felicity wasn't in it was fucking hilarious. Keep it up Arrow writers.

The hilarious thing is this episode had plenty of Oliver, plenty of Diggle, and them both doing what they do best, and the Olicity/OTA idiots are bashing it because of no Felicity.

Fucking liars all of them. They don't care about the "leads" or "OTA" they just want Felicity. Do these idiots self insert into her or something? An episode of the Green Arrow is made or broken not by the actual Green Arrow but if his love interest shows up to pout or make technobabble?

This episode was great for so many reasons:

  1. No Felicity until the very end.

  2. Not bullshit intra-team drama about being distrustful of each other blah blah blah

  3. Rene being a sensible and responsible team member and acknowledging he isn't ready for a mission and would only likely jeopardize his team's safety.

  4. Anatoly.

Anatoly redemption is also a good development

Everyone hates Renee but it was good writing for him to admit he's not ready for the field. Also think he's going to be the one to get everyone to help Oliver

Wow.

Did they actually have Zoey, a girl probably no older than William, make William from early this season look like an absolute little bitch this episode?

William was all like "I'm scared to lose you daddy" whilst Zoey's all like "You told me to be brave"... I was wrong: Fuck William - he's a little bitch. Zoey's got the right idea.

The episode was pretty enjoyable IMO (the lack of Felicity should be noted), I really liked the Oliver/Anatoly/Dragon scenes and also were getting real close to that Laurel redemption which is exciting.

Okay, I've got to admit, that was much better than I thought it was going to be. That's kinda damning with faint praise, considering what I went in, braced for.

My expectations: an NTA plot where they're all awesome and superb, and constantly throwing shade at OTA.

What I got: an NTA plot where they were kinda awesome, needed ARGUS help, and Rene dealt with some PTSD. They still threw shade at Oliver, of course, but for once everyone actually remembered that saving the city took priority over melodrama, so I'll give it points for not making me want to throw a chair through my TV.

My expectations: Oliver winds up confronting Diaz, gets his ass beat into the ground, and is broken by the villain, once again, in a lame-ass attempt to make Diaz work on the same level as Prometheus.

What I Got: An Oliver/Anatole subplot that delved into their underlying conflict with each other. The Oliver/Diaz fight was well-done, and the villain only won by cheating. And the whole thing was part of Oliver's plan to make Anatole see the kind of scum he'd aligned himself with.

My expectations: Quinton finds out Laurel works for Diaz. He rejects her vehemently, permanently driving her to Diaz and staying a villain.

What I Got: A somewhat cliche but very well-acted turning point for Laurel-2, as well as Paul Blackthorne showing off that he really deserves better material than what he gets half the time.

This was not the "organic" trainwreck I was expecting it to be. I'm still convinced this is going to end with Oliver asking to be on NTA, hat in hand, but maybe... just maybe... we might get something a bit more original.

My one complaint? Black Siren worked for ZOOM. Katie Cassidy's performance was solid enough to convince me she really was afraid of him, but meta-contextually, there's no way she'd be afraid of a garden-variety sociopath like Diaz after working up-close and personal with a raging pyschotic like Hunter Zolomon. If she'd just compared the two, I could have swallowed it. But when she called him "worse," it just tore me right out of the show.

Fefe had only a few seconds of screen time and no lines.

Cry for me, Oliciters. Cry for me so I can lick it up.

I love that the B team and Diggle had this massive thing set up to stop Diaz and it turned into nothing more than a contraband destruction mission. While Oliver, working alone, has paid off his debt and managed to turn Anatoly against Diaz. B team thinks they are doing something all while Oliver is single handedly crumbling Diaz from the inside. Beautiful.

Did anyone else think the punching sounds in the fight between Oliver and Diaz sounded really bad?

Rene's "So Oliver finally drove them all away, can't say that I'm surprised." Rene needs another beating I think.

Is it weird that I’m nearly crying over Anatoly probably going over to Oliver’s side again?

I’m so fucking excited because I’ve always loved their relationship, it’s as exciting as Black Siren’s redemption for me

This was a great episode. I really wished they didn't show that in the preview. That would've been an insane surprise.

And of course everyone is freaking out about Oliver "losing" the fight. Guys. For fucks sake. Did you not see Diaz fucking stab him?

Lack of Felicity = decent episode

Diaz is actually a worse big bad than Darkh was in Season 4. What a waste of Kirk's potential by these writers

It makes absolutely no sense at all why Black Siren would be more afraid of Diaz than Zoom. Dont the writers realize that their story has to make some kind of sense? I mean Black Siren is a meta-human thats more powerful than Diaz. Realistically she could have killed him when they were alone, ran off told quentin ane tried to escape retaliation from Diaz's crew with the Arrow team by now

Was General Hale a lawyer before she gave up on the Arrowverse?

Ever since Legends had its finale suddenly every show has had a spike of quality going up. Maybe Legends just siphoned all of the quality of each show and it's slowly returning now that it's done.

Great episode. Took me nearly 45 minutes to notice Felicity wasn't in it until the last few seconds

"That man was my friend." That made me way more emotional than I was expecting. That fight was so good though
