The comment "You looked better when you were on heroin" gets a lot of people itchy in /r/pics

There are two types of people in this world:

  1. Congrats on getting clean! What an accomplishment! As a side note, have you considered bleaching your hair again? It works well with your skin-tone, which is so positively radiant now that you're off the drugs!

or

2) You looked better when you were on heroin.

I've seen a similar split happen with people who are recovering from eating disorders.

You looked better when you were on heroin.

This seems like a pretty mean thing to say. And it might just be my personal preference, but I definitely prefer the right side. Although in general who gives a shit what she looks like as long as she is off heroin, good for her.

The girl on the left has realistic expectations, likes to enjoy the moment instead of worrying about peer pressure. On the right we have an instagram addict who changes boyfriends like socks and makes you feel like she's too good for you and you don't deserve her.

Hmmmm, gimme more of that projection and bitterness.

Nah the one on the right keeps dropping "subtle" hints about kids, about marriage, and always seems to be sizing you up when there's a child around. You can never quite trust the contraceptives with the one on the right. Also the one on the right must be mentally deficient if she finds you attractive. This makes her less attractive. The one on the left, if she had an orgasm, it probably wasn't fake. She seems like the type where if you weren't satisfying her she'd tell you.

Now that's the good stuff.

Yeah, I have a feeling she has much more unflattering pictures of herself from when she was a heroin addict.

Also she has sort of a mysterious "chill" vibe in the before pic which I kinda dig.

That's not mysterious, that's just heroin.

"She has that far away gaze in her eyes, I can't put my finger on it..."

I've pretty much have only opened my Reddit app a few times in the last 24 hours. Can someone catch me up? Am I suppose to be mad too? I'm confused.

Am I suppose to be mad too?

Only if you invest way too much in the photo of a stranger on the Internet.
