Off Topic [OT] Spotlight: Serious_Squirrel

Writers Spotlight

Serious_Squirrel is this week's spotlight writer. You can ask them a question by using the "/u/Serious_Squirrel" in your comment.

How is a spotlight chosen? If you find a writer who hasn’t been in the limelight yet, has multiple decent entries (at least 6 or more) over the past few months, and you think deserves a spotlight, send us a modmail with your recommendation! We’ll add them to the list and with luck, they’ll make it up here. we're currently revisiting the division between spotlights and the HoF, so expect the unexpected over the next few months. - Nate

I just wanted to give a big thank you to whoever sent my name in and also to the moderators. It really made my day. :)

Congrats on the spotlight, u/Serious_Squirrel!

Hmm... lemme think of a question... I think I got one.

Do you find it easier to write for media-type prompts (like IP/MPs) or for normal WPs? :)

I like the Image Prompts the best. :)

Congratulations, u/Serious_Squirrel !! :D I'm happy to see you here, your stories are so enjoyable and nice to read. I really enjoy the ones linked here, too. As for a question, what is your favorite story that you've written for a prompt? Or one of them, or two, haha. ;)

Here are the lovecraft inspired stories:

The first prompt that started it

The second one

third

and finally the one listed above

I hope you don't mind, LycheeBerri. I keep loading you down with reading material. You'd only asked for one, maybe two and suddenly find yourself under an avalanche of reading material. It's a squirrel thing. Once we start digging around, we gather it all. ;)

There was another story that I would like to make more of eventually, and it's fantasy based: A blue light emits from your closed bathroom, as you lay under the sheets. You investigate to find that there lay a single egg on the floor. A note was laying beside it, that note and egg would change your life forever

And, if you like cold weather: Write about something you hate from the perspective of someone falling in love with it for the first time/wp_write_about_something_you_hate_from_the/ddjl3xn/)

~I'll stop now. Promise.

Thanks!

I'm on a Lovecraft kick lately, so right now the prompts I wrote Cthuhlu stories on are my favorites. There's a link to one of them, above.

I also really enjoy the stories where I think I'm being funny, but I've noticed those don't do as well with everyone else. This may be why I'm not a comedian.

One of my old stories spawned its own subreddit (r/HumanSnailAlliance)... of which I appear to be the only person posting. ;) Here's the story that started it

Wooooeeee, I'm glad to see a guy write some responses at a digestible length. I like when the stories don't require any scrollin'.

I try. I understand the hardships of scrolling. The struggle is real. ;) Happy reading, fudgeman.
