Why are people so desperate to make jokes about autistic kids? They;re not funny, they're just uncomfortable.

I don't think it's so much the fact they can't make autism jokes anymore, it's just that the mods are very inconsistent with their rules and they're pissed over that.

They say that you can't make autism jokes because people who either have autism or know someone with autism would get offended, but you can make rape jokes, holocaust jokes, genocide jokes, and racist jokes just fine. All of those jokes frequently aren't funny and are uncomfortable, usually to a greater degree than the autism jokes, but they're all A-okay in the mods eyes because they don't involve autism.

It's that inconsistency that they're calling out really, and I do agree with them on that. You can't say that autism jokes are verboten because they are insulting and make people feel uncomfortable, but then allow holocaust jokes and racist jokes to be posted because apparently everyone knows that's a joke, but no one knows the autism jokes were actually jokes. Yeah those jokes got overdone, but they would have been better off "temporarily" banning them because of overuse than try and take the high road on this.

Really this is just poor execution on the mods part, a "temporary" ban due to overuse wouldn't have caused this much drama.

You know, the Redditors who throw tantrums about being asked to stop using words like "retard" remind me of the people in the 1970s who threw tantrums about being asked to stop using words like "n*gger" and "coloreds".

Yeah, yeah, whaaa whaa Language Police. But even if you're asked to stop using 50 words, that's about .03% of all of the English language. Somehow I think you'll still be able to communicate just fine.

Wow, that's the last sub I expected that to happen to. I've been subbed there on various accounts for a long while, they're like the Spongebob version of r/imgoingtohellforthis. I somehow doubt that this is legit.

Holy shit r/Imgoingtorockbottom/ is rough right now. Are those the posts that were floating around r/BikiniBottomTwitter? Wait, is r/BikiniBottomTwitter just a playful riff on the also slightly discomfiting r/BlackPeopleTwitter? So many questions.

Bikinibottomtwitter was an offshoot of blackpeopletwitter from when they got nuts on spongebob memes for a while, and some people got attached. This appears to be 12 year olds that find shock humor funny, therefore the more shocking something is the funnier it must be.

I give them a week before they disappear up their own assholes.
