Drama erupts in /r/WikiLeaks over whether or not Julian Assange REALLY agreed to be extradited to the U.S. if Obama granted clemency to Chelsea Manning.

If CTR is the Google of shilling, does that make r/the_donald Bing?

Doesn't he need to make a stopover in Sweden first? I'm sure they can work on the finer details of his trip to the U.S. after the Swedish authorities ask him a few harmless questions.

The U.S. hasn't even charged him with anything. Assange thinks the Sweden thing is just a cover to extradite him to the U.S., but there is currently no Justice Department investigation, no charges have been filed, and the U.S. hasn't even asked to question him! That's generally not how the U.S. justice system operates.
He's an accused rapist with an overinflated ego. The U.S. government certainly isn't happy with him, but if he was going to be indicted, that information would be public.

I think it's fair enough that he clarifies his position now clemency had been given; Assange can still honour his promise in due course, he doesn't need to be in a rush, and I don't think it would be wise of him to do that.
Oh yeah no rush, he can still honour his promise in due time, like maybe in three years after the statute of limitations is up on the allegations in Sweden.

Once charges are files doesn't the clock on the Statute of Limitations stop?

I'm not that familiar with the Swedish legal system, but from what I've gathered once charges are filed the Statute of Limitations isn't an issue anymore. By fucking off to the Ecuadorian embassy he ran out the clock on two of the accusations because he had to be questioned before he could be formally charged.
They can still go after him for the rape charge because it has a ten year period before they can't pursue it. He's been questioned, so they could formally charge him there. If and when, remains to be seen.
