Metadrama /r/zen explodes into chaos after the mods announce the rare banning of a user. Some people think the wrong troll was banned.

Is ewk still there? Fuck, it'll never end.

You should have known that he was involved as soon as you saw "r/zen". :p

I mostly enjoy ewk, from a zen standpoint. Gotta question everything, always. No place or time to build yourself up as enlightened and the end all be all of warm fuzzy zen esque delusions of grandeur.

I dunno if he still does, but he used to be an attack dog, questioning users about their claims and experiences. Sure it's tiring but I'd rather read that then a thousand posts of shitty memes with soft Buddhist words of wisdom on them.

I can see the role he serves but when he behaves such a way for years, every day, literally. It's just too much. Most threads are derailed by his bullshit and the bullshit reactions of all the bullshitters antagonizing him. It just is a meaningless circle (ironically)

I've said it once, I've said it again, but the guys on that subreddit seem very un-Zen. Unless internet flame wars and getting mad about other religions are now mind-clearing sutras.

They seem to be zen in the 13th century kind of way.

I'm still amused at the Zen monk who basically used Zen as an excuse to beat his acolytes.

Zen has a bit of a temper at times.

It's still the internet. We wouldn't be here if it weren't an endless source of bickering.

"I admit that I'm a little of everything that everybody accuses me of, and that I pwn churchers without mercy and dominate the illiterates without quarter." Someone is definitely verysmart.

Are you mythologizing here as actively as academics are trying to "de-mythologize" the zen characters? Am I being too hagiographical here for current events? Shall we admit that iconoclastic stereotyping is simply political posturing, based on what is liked, what is disliked, what suits political purpose, and what doesn't? How about de-mythologizing the lie of academic neutrality?

Is this pasta salad?

That sub is trolls trolling trolls in the guise of try-hard, clever-sounding, cliche zen masters.

You need a clearer vision of what you're trying to cultivate.
