Snack When you're sliding into third and you feel a juicy turd: One user in /r/TIL says "fuck off with this shit" regarding a baseball factoid

I love the utter incomprehensible rage people get about others liking sports they don't, ESPECIALLY baseball. Baseball is so fucking divisive it's a drama magnet. People online either love it or absolutely despise it. No in between.

Baseball, American football, and association football are a drama triangle. They're all considered "boring" by non-fans for different reasons, so there's a constant three-way skirmish where a fan of one sport makes a comment about another and other fans feel compelled to defend their honor and launch a counterattack against the original offender.

Always wondered why hockey never got any of that flak, just not popular enough?

They all have interesting elements. I mean, I don't play or watch any of them. Generally I will exit conversations about them.

Still, I thought this fact was interesting, loved the Radiolab episode about cheese strategies in football, and am fascinated by soccer chants.

Boring things are still usually interesting if framed in the right way. I'm sure there's a lot more to love about each of them, even if I couldn't for the life of me sit through a game.

Well I think they're ALL boring. So there!

In as much as i like any team sport, i like baseball, but i don't think i'd sit down to watch any team sporting event. I just don't have strong feelings about any of it.

Now boxing or MMA? That i have strong feelings on!

From a completely uneducated point of view, baseball seems like the least interesting team sport to watch. Much less room for team play, less flashy plays, less action in general... I've had to attend a few baseball games and they booked me out of my mind.

I'm sure that there are good reasons people find baseball interesting, but for non sports-enthusiasts, it's at the very least a lot less accessible than football or hockey. But at least people score sometimes, so it's got that over soccer...

Same with cricket in the rest of the world.

I'm of the opinion that if you hate cricket, you hate life...but I know not everyone is gonna agree, so I love and let live.

Less about the drama and a quick question about the OP. What happens when you slide into second? How do you determine you have diarrhea?

6

u/catflop Jul 17 '16

When you're sliding into second and your sphincter starts to beckon.

When you're stealing second base
And it splatters in your face.

Eh, it would be funnier if I thought he was a legit asshole.

But that's just a troll.

tl;dr:

"This is dumb and uninteresting."
"Reading a shampoo bottle is more interesting than reading your drivel."
"Then don't read it? I mean nobody is forcing you to so fuck off with this shit."

It's always glorious when a troll turns his own stupidity against himself.

A factoid is something that sounds like a fact but is, in fact, complete bollocks..... So was this a fact or a factoid?

This is dumb and uninteresting.

that's true. let's all troll everything and not care with words of hate against goals and sports.

Dude says he hates baseball, which means he probably doesn't really know anything about or stop to think that maybe there is a reason that lefties have such a hard time in the position, which, to people who like baseball, actually make the fact interesting.

Watching paint dry is more interesting than fucking baseball dude
