asians in cali say nigga all the time

i really dont have an opinion on it even as a black dude but its pretty common tbth

honestly you're not going to get as much vitriol when another minority says it vs. when a white person says it, due to the history of the word and the power dynamic. from my personal POV its been more of a "white people cant say it" rather than a "only black people can say it." hence Hispanics using it with impunity more often than not

but then again, I'd wager hispanics get a pass because they're very connected to black people and we all live in the same neighborhood. the relationship between blacks & asians isn't a ironclad as the relationship between blacks and hispanics.

there's also a huge difference between calling a black person a nigga vs. calling someone else a nigga. if its you and your homies black people aren't gonna jump a fence and beat you up for using it amongst yourselves.

This, there are TONS of things everyone says in the group of friends that they would never say if they were on TV or some other platform where a lot of strangers could hear them.

is it bad i held my breath as i opened the links bc i hoped to god it wasn't my ultimate bias?

but oh boy something i can actually comment on that i have absolute 100% experience with being black AND a kpop fan.

it's like (for people who don't follow the scene) rlly common for idols to make a sort of ... anti black/racist/stereotypical comment. i think g dragon from bigbang is kind of the poster boy for it.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TKD03uPVD-Q this is their song "bae bae" and GD drops it twice. bigbang is rlly good too, they've been around for 10 years. i recently started listening to them, like a year or so ago. i only listen to them still bc of T.O.P. his voice is so deep i love it

but yeah, i don't think idols will ever learn they can't say it at all /: it'll be a miracle tbh. i just have to steer clear and make sure they never end up on my bias list

Big bang in general have always had a hip-hop/urban influence in their fashion. I remember when GD came out with Heartbreaker and his look was more alternative for a while, but he's gotten back to that streetwear look.

I loved big bang since like middle school (and taeyang will always be bae <3) so I don't want it to look like I'm a attacking them but Paul Mooney said it best

So, are you the embodiment of that r/t_d meme with the guy sweating over which button to push? Seriously though, I feel your pain. I had a small breakdown when I found out Beck was a Scientologist.

I have a hard time believing bambam does not know the significance behind word

I'm just wondering, do Koreans know how bad the word is?

Maybe one day this word (and way too many others) won't have the inexplicable amount of power over us the way they do, but today is not that day.
