Episode Discussion: Season 5, Episode 11 - Battle Royale
Welcome back to American Horror Story!
On tonight's episode, Ramona draws vitality from an unlikely source, Sally uses her past to plan for her future, and people remember Scarlett exists while she finds out the truth about her family.

Yeah, Sally's too batshit crazy for me. That sewing together mess was way too much.

After many
happydisturbing years on reddit I consider myself pretty desensitized, but that scene went a bit far.

"Now that we have Holden, we can be a family again Salamander!"

I'm confused by that part. Does she know her mom and brother are vampires? And that her dad is a serial killer?

Mrs. Evers's ongoing love affair with modern cleaning devices is my favorite love story.

I was not sure if Sally was getting the bullets out or just poking her wounds for shits and giggles.

Wait, when was that even brought up?

u/pineapple_mango Jan 08 '16
She was asked when her first was by Mr. March during the dinner scene. I don't remember what he meant by first but she took it as a sex joke and said my first time with a man?
*edit to add his name lol

There was an episode of strange addictions that made me think that she was going to eat her son the entire time.
The woman lost her husband shortly after they got married and she just started eating his remains to feel better. shudders

I have read multiple comments on an askreddit thread or something where people described eating their loved ones ashes. It apparently more common than you'd think! Weird.

Haven't watched that season yet, not looking forward to it, but I'm doing it for the love of the show
16
u/devont Jan 07 '16
It's just a very different season in tone from the first two, and really, all of them so far. I also think it's a very polarizing season, I feel like you either end up loving it or hating it. I personally loved it.
23
u/keamyable Jan 07 '16
I think we were just all spoiled by the first two seasons being so great, plus it's such a huge change in tone after Asylum. Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett were awesome though.

u/rkellyturbo Jan 07 '16
You might love it. Don't let your preconceived notions stop you from enjoying it.
2
u/Rockerblocker Jan 07 '16
True. Hell, it took me three tries and pressure from a friend to actually watch the entirety of the first episode of Murder House. Now I've been addicted to the three seasons I've watched so far.

So like...the wrath of the Coven should be coming down on the Hotel. Right?
25
u/jdt1986 Jan 07 '16
I know it's unlikely, but I would love for Cordelia and the other most powerful members of the coven to arrive (looking for Queenie) and end up exorcising the hotel in vengeance for her death...

Miss Evers needs a shot of self-esteem and join Liz and Iris.
Edit: She got it.

u/Black_Delphinium Jan 07 '16
Still pulling for the three of them to move to be beach and become the new Golden Girls.

u/hadapurpura Jan 07 '16
A tad hard for Miss Evers, what with being trapped in the hotel and all.

The coffee can that had Donovan's ashes in it said Campfire Gold- wasn't that the coffee Elsa Mars did a commercial for last season? Or am I imagining things lol

"Alright guys, it turns out that 2016's premier is going to air the same day as the People's choice awards, we really need something really controversial to get some high ratings. Any ideas?"
"Have we done our threesome yet this season?"
"Yea, a few times."
"Well, i mean, we can have them shooting up during the threesome..."
"Ooh, thats close, but thats a bit clichΓ©, dont you think? Make sure it goes in the dick."
"Well, we still need time to stitch the plotlines toget-"
"Stitch them together? The threesome?"
"No, i mea-"
"Good Enough."
Edit:
"Oh and a hall full of half consumed-kids, don't forget that. That'll work."
"Should the dead kids be in the dick heroine orgy?"
"Are you kidding?! We have standards...
...
...and practises to bribe first. Save it for next season."
Edit2:
"Oh yea, and kill Gaga too. That should get some angry comments from her little monsters."

So vampires become ghosts after all.
