A brawl for all in /r/SquaredCircle when Donald Trump is said to be a racist, and another user vehemently disagrees

You know what amazes me is that everyone - on both sides - arguing about whether Trump is racist or not seem to have forgotten that he was die hard birther just last election. Do people really not remember about his boasting about how he'd been able to prove that Obama's birth certificate was fake?

Birtherism is/was completely rooted in racism, prejudice and xenophobia, through and through. His comments about immigrants aside, I consider that alone to be evidence that he's racist, and I've yet to hear any of his defenders come up with a good rebuttal for it either.

EDIT: Apparently, someone DontFuckinJimmyMe decided to accept my challenge. Already got my first angry PM.

Being a "birther" doesn't make you racist. It means that you believe somebody is illegally trying to take over the highest office of the country. It's not "xenophobia", you liberal pansy, it's the law in question.

Yeah, jumping on the whole presidency was hijacked by a foreign born Muslim sleeper agent bandwagon on top of his remarks about most (but maybe not all) Mexicans being rapey drug dealing criminals is totally not indicative of a mindset, ya pansy!

That's almost like implying that his multiple bankruptcies might indicate something about his business acumen.

Why do they always have a knee jerk reaction to try to say "it's not racist" or "it's not xenophobic" followed by "to care about XX in my country" I've seen this remark in "European" redditors, and on news feeds.

Even when how they talk fits the textbook definition of nativism/racism/xenophobia quite well.

They seem to take a lot of their opposition as illiterate morons who go around just accusing random people of racism and such. Even when their prejudice is spilling over the top of the bucket.

Just the Obama birther movement is just crazy because, a republican majority congress could have easily impeached Obama if he wasnt a American citizen.

Then you have trump playing with a runner up like Ted Cruz who wasn't even born on USA soil, which isn't even a secret.

Yeah the birther thing is not only racist but is also such a cockamamey conspiracy theory it's evidence of stupidity, not just racism.

Also I'm pretty sure that rule was to prevent spies, foreign kings, and people who'd undermine the US on behalf of another state. Obama is none of those things.

What is up with this sub and angry pms lately?

And also that he's famously said things like "Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

Hijacking this thread to mention how great the Zeb Colter/Jack Swagger racist tea partyer gimmick was. That shit was gold, up there with Bayley and The New Day as the best WWE gimmicks in the last 5 years

The Shield is probably my favorite faction ever in the WWE.

CM Punk was great but the WWE mangled him and missed a lot of golden opportunities.

The Wyatt's blow.

I thought so too but the dude has a similar karma score as mine, so unless he decided in that thread to go total douche nozzle for fun, then I think he's for real about Trump.

Don't. Lots of people really think this shit, they just don't often argue about it on Reddit.

what the fuck constitutes as actual racism to these people? do they have to go around literally lynching black people before they recognize something as racist?
