A dude in /r/punchablefaces misunderstood a meme and then tried to defend his misunderstanding

I love when people double and triple down. It's so easy to post "Oops you're right, that was dumb of me".

If reddit has taught me one thing, it's that on the internet admitting you are wrong is the hardest thing in the world.

I did it a few weeks ago. I've been suffering from insomnia ever since. Would not recommend.

You know, users can so easily spew racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. shit on here behind a veil of anonymity but even with that same veil they can't admit when their wrong. Baffles tf outta me.

They can't handle the cognitive dissonance between the ideas "I'm a smart person" and "I made a mistake." Anonymity hides you from everyone but yourself.

fuck it I'm with them. imagine taking memes seriously. actually, fuck them as well; it's fun when drama flows from such an yuck sibreddit.

Wait, so not keeping up with memes makes you a schoolchild? Shouldn't the opposite be more likely to be true?

It's not about the fedora on your head, it is about the fedora in your heart.

it's funny how reddit seems to attract so many "i meant to do that" types who never back down on things where they obviously didn't understand what they were commenting on. it's not even just a dumb teenager thing or a troll site thing. people post stupid obviously immediately wrong things on somwthingawful and 4chan etc. and then a bunch of people quote them and rag on them and they disappear out of embarrassment. but for some reason on this site they dig their heels in like they can overcome a callout through sheer will power and length of counterargument. it's really strange

"ek ladki" means "one girl" in Hindi. User being Indian and female might explain why she didn't understand the meme.

Yes, we females don't understand memes. Too dank for my lady brain. (srsly. You can make an argument for the cultural barrier, and even that's a little bit questionable, but not the gender one, friend.)

Came here to post almost the same thing as newbie there. I don't know about the user being a woman, but them being likely indian does increase the likelihood of not having come across that particular meme previously.

It's not a dude. Ek Ladki means A Girl in hindi.
