Call me a bluff old traditionalist if you will, but if I'd just been doused in petrol, It's highly unlikely that I'd be inclined to be starting a fire...

13

u/faildata Mar 07 '15

In addition if you dump that much gas on the ground, the vapor cloud would ignite as soon as you lit a lighter near it. Don't ask me how I know.

2

u/cowcompliments Mar 08 '15

How do you know?

5

u/faildata Mar 09 '15

Starts with an impromptu party at a buddy's house whose parents were away. They had a big pile of brush and we came up with the idea of a bonfire. Cut to me dumping about 2 gallons of gas all the way around this pile of brush, and then pouring a small trail of gas about 2-3 feet away. I light it, the vapor cloud ignites, and I end up on my ass with singed eyebrows and the pile of brush scattered about. Not fun.

9

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

Not with that attitude.

5

u/spyder728 Mar 08 '15

I was thinking the same too. I would spend a long time wiping off all the gas before I would light a fire.

Well, it's Banshee, everybody is a superhuman there, but it's badass!

3

u/dehehn Mar 08 '15

Or you know, have Burton do it.

1

u/spyder728 Mar 08 '15

Would be less badass than Kai doing it himself though :(

u/RyanT22 Mar 07 '15

Bunker is the man

16

u/cybrbeast Mar 07 '15

I like him, but I can't understand why he hasn't removed the swastika tattoo on his cheek. It's ridiculous to be a police officer with that on your face.

16

u/drt0 Mar 08 '15

I think he has serious self hate issues due to his past and the tattoos are both a reminder and self imposed punishment

11

u/ummhumm Mar 08 '15

This indeed. The hate he gets from everyone he encounters, he takes as what was coming for him. He wants everyone to know what he was.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

I like the character but that bothers me everytime I see it.

Ok, he can't afford removing the tattoo. Fine. IT'S JUST A LITTLE ONE ON HIS CHEEK HE CAN PUT A GODDAMN BANDAID ON IT. All the other ones can be covered up with clothing, though the neck ones might be a bit tricky with the police uniform.

2

u/mr_popcorn Mar 12 '15

With careful reapplication he could turn that swastika into a cross instead.

1

u/Forsaken_Emu_9905 Apr 01 '25

yep. I thought about the bandaid too. so simple.

36

u/RyanT22 Mar 07 '15

Next week is going to be ridiculous.

23

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

To be honest we say this every week.

and every episode but like 6 and 7 were totally ridic

32

u/ileikpie Mar 07 '15

Has anyone ever noticed how incredibly buff Job is? Damn, those biceps.

29

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Uh oh the glasses came off...

30

u/rarely-sarcastic Mar 07 '15

They teased the shit out of us with that one. I was so excited to see how much hell Burton would bring on those guys and instead we just got to watch him fuck up a door.

10

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

They frequently tease us with it. That one time they showed him taking the glasses off, and then people start coming out and he puts the glasses back on.

6

u/NumberMuncher Mar 07 '15

The axe man cometh. And I was so looking forward to Burton axing them what happened.

28

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

I hope Brock moves on from his ex-wife, she's as bad as the woman who thought it was a good idea to nurse Chayton back to health.

25

u/DrunkFern Mar 07 '15

Bunker just needs his own show.

17

u/dots218 Mar 07 '15

The "Recovered Neo-Nazi rights his wrongs" will be my favourite story arc of next season.

9

u/KlutchAtStraws Mar 07 '15

Before becoming an item with the hot DA...?

Crazier things have happened in Banshee.

6

u/Shoninjv Mar 09 '15

He has a very slight Keanu style.

2

u/Blue_Wave_2020 May 28 '22

Old thread but if you haven’t seen him in Ozark you need to

22

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Why wouldn't you pick up the other half of your nose before walking out? Get that shit sewn back on.

15

u/fandamplus Mar 07 '15

Get it on ice!

Nevermind, Proctor BBQ'd it.

1

u/Forsaken_Emu_9905 Apr 01 '25

I thought the same thing.

18

u/KlutchAtStraws Mar 07 '15

Much as I love this show, sometimes the suspension of disbelief is stretched to breaking point. No, I am not talking about the fact that characters regularly take damage that should leave them needing months of medical treatment and rehab (assuming they survive.) I'm fine with all that.

Everytime I see Carrie in the diner though I think, "for Pete's sake woman, tie that hair back if you're going to be serving food!" Health and safety over here, people! Sheesh...

8

u/Sanlear Mar 07 '15

In Banshee, even the food is dangerous.

8

u/RyanT22 Mar 08 '15

I'm also curious why she hasn't been fired from the diner about 10 times already.

6

u/KlutchAtStraws Mar 09 '15

Lol - I think the whole town knows she's the lethal daughter of a notorious Ukrainian gangster so kind of a tricky employee to fire.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '15

"Carrie, you're fired"

"Я вб'ю тебе, якщо ти це робиш"

"Uuuuh ok, you're staying"

2

u/Some_Fool Mar 09 '15

Small town, no one else to hire.

1

u/Dragonfly51383 Sep 07 '22

This is legit the most unbelievable part of the show for me as well.

3

u/Forsaken_Emu_9905 Apr 01 '25

I completely agree. And yet, despite his apparent invincibility and incredible healing abilities, how long has Hood had that ace bandage on his right wrist?

thanks!!!! No one else seemed to take me seriously making me wonder if i made it up.

13

u/LostHydra Mar 07 '15

So next season will probably have the neo-nazis as the villains.

7

u/spyder728 Mar 07 '15 edited Mar 07 '15

I say Colonel lives until next season and he probably takes Carrie with him.

Then Hood gotta chase him to save Carrie, no longer in Banshee. Remember? Not filming there anymore.

4

u/Alinosburns Mar 07 '15

Yeah but that would be like the opening 1-2 episodes max.

Especially given the shorter season.

The real question is whether or not the shorter season is a sign of the show coming to an end. and whether that means they hurl the eventual proctor/hood showdown to mainplot status and just give the other storylines enough lip service to conclude them.

1

u/spyder728 Mar 09 '15

They could, but cost more

4

u/Midas_Ag Mar 07 '15

I recall an interview with the show creator/writer that confirms that next season focuses on skin heads. They also mentioned that the show might move outisde Banshee more.

1

u/DeeBased Mar 09 '15

Nice! It was awesome when they went to New Orleans.

25

u/PCorny Mar 07 '15

Jobe is a great character. I have to say that this show creates some of the most lovable characters (good or bad) that I have EVER seen in any show. It's still amazing me every episode.

11

u/Osinib Mar 07 '15

I agree. I love Job so much, His character and his quotes are just so on point." The only way you could clean this place is with a motherfucking grenade" I just died. I did also enjoy the flashback of him and hood. All around solid episode.

1

u/fyt2012 Mar 08 '15

Yeah that line killed me

1

u/RyanT22 Mar 09 '15

And the way sugar responded by just spraying him was perfect.

1

u/mr_popcorn Mar 12 '15

Job is the fucking man. Please don't kill him.

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

6

u/Faithless195 Mar 07 '15

Nothing worse than seeing a bad guy who's supposed to be all cool and shit....and he looks like a normal guy. Watching Banshee makes it really hard to watch regular TV shows.

6

u/RyanT22 Mar 07 '15

This is true I just binged watched all three season to get caught up and started feeling a little depressed because there is nothing else like it right now.

-9

u/fyt2012 Mar 08 '15

The show is so terrible though. It's so terrible that it's amazing.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Aaaaaaahhhhhh!! The nose!

11

u/NumberMuncher Mar 07 '15

Any Farscape fans? Rygel did it first.

9

u/greentangent Mar 07 '15

I always loved how they could take that muppet from lovable to annoying to terrifying. Pilot too for that matter. Those guys were masters.

11

u/DarthJudas Mar 07 '15

Anyone believe we'll see Gordon die next episode? With Carrie and Gordon having second thoughts of getting a divorce you know something has got to happen. We also learned Gordon is a former Marine, is a decent hand to hand fighter and a really good shot. You know he's going after Carrie. Are the writers trying to push the Hood and Carrie thing for next season with Hood being a real daddy to Deva? Poor Max won't have a daddy and most fans will probably forget he even exists.

17

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Hood being a real daddy to Deva

Getting her out of legal trouble without consequences because he's the sheriff isn't being a real daddy, it's being a shitty daddy.

15

u/Alinosburns Mar 07 '15

Getting anyone out of the police station that's been blown up 2-3 times so far is probably the sign of a reasonable person.

There's still bullet holes in the walls.

14

u/DarthJudas Mar 07 '15

15 years in prison put a damper on his parenting skills I guess.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '15

Not really, a criminal record would ruin her future and considering she's just a 15 year old kid who's whole world just came tumbling down around her I think she can be forgiven for being rebellious. What is legal and what is right are often 2 very different things and he did what was right.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

max dosent matter, just slows the show down from being the amazing trainwreck that it is.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

He doesn't. I assumed they wrote him out of the show. We haven't seen him all season.

9

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

Deva stole a Forza game for him.

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Someone said he was working on another TV show or a movie? cant remember exactly

10

u/StellaEllaBella Mar 08 '15

Intense scenes, as usual. But love how Proctor is getting baptized, but before he finishes being a "born-again" christian he's dragged away; only to be "baptized" in gasoline and be born again like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

10

u/NumberMuncher Mar 07 '15

If an mob of white supremacists destroys those military guys next week, I will conflictedly cheer them on.

3

u/spyder728 Mar 07 '15

I think they are only there to destroy bunker though....

1

u/kcstrike Mar 10 '15

Did I miss the mob in this episode?

8

u/OprahFTWinfry Mar 07 '15

This episode is definitely big for Proctor being the big bad next season (that fire scene tho) and as well as Bunker's brother. Was great seeing when Job and Hood met. Hood and Gordon team up!

7

u/themasterofallthngs Mar 08 '15

Wow. I knew Job was good, but not that good.

I think it's very likely that Gordon dies in the next episode.

6

u/Facbookuserandproud Mar 08 '15

Not even a slightly nude scene this time! Is this show becoming family-friendly?

9

u/politevelociraptor Mar 07 '15

Whoever thought hood was ex cia operative or something similar good job I think next season will be diving into that part of his past and how he escaped.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Definitely sounded like some "Black Ops" organization or maybe a private security firm.

3

u/fyt2012 Mar 08 '15

Yeah I'm going with mercenary force (Blackwater-ish) or private security

0

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

4

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '15

Missed opportunity to say he was on fire.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

17

u/Docterror Mar 07 '15

I thought they got him outside Sugars bar.

12

u/Dr_Midnite Mar 07 '15

They identified Sugar and figured he was working with Jobe. When they nabbed Sugar they just waited for Jobe.

7

u/ummhumm Mar 08 '15

Why are so many people in this thread calling him Jobe? His name is Job.

4

u/JD-73 Mar 09 '15

You're right, it is spelled Job, just like the one in the Bible.

I think people are confused with the pronunciation of the long 'O', and are (wrongly) trying to spell it phonetically. I sure hope they don't need to spell out Heysuse anytime soon.

For those of you who think the spelling 'Job' is incorrect, just look at the credits, or the imdb page.

2

u/cowcompliments Mar 08 '15

Jobs name is whatever he/she wants it to be.

9

u/puckbeaverton Mar 07 '15 edited Mar 07 '15

The question is why jobe hadn't peaced the fuck out already.

4

u/Alinosburns Mar 07 '15

I thought they were sitting on the money, waiting to divvy it up.

Wasn't that the half of the sugar/jobe sidestory last week.

3

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

Hood coming to Banshee has been bad for everyone it seems.

2

u/dehehn Mar 08 '15

They should have all left town the night of the robbery. Job definitely should have based on his character.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '15

Except Lucas and Carrie both have commitments in Banshee (their job, their kids).

3

u/PCorny Mar 07 '15

I don't think they specifically showed it. I think they basically were just implying that the army geek figured him out and therefore he can locate him. But I get what you're saying..its strange that he was able to just pop in and nab jobe when Jobe's specialty is being a ghost and subterfuge and all that

6

u/SawRub Mar 07 '15

I think since they found Sugar, they just sat on the place assuming that his associates might drop by too, and they were right.

4

u/NumberMuncher Mar 07 '15

Army Geek sat outside the Forge.

"Hmmmm, now that guy looks like he's not from around here."

It's so weird to watch English movies and TV shows and see the swastika being seen as a negative thing. That Adolf guy sure ruined a lot of things for everybody.

7

u/KevinBrown Mar 07 '15

Weren't they tapping into the surveillance system?

4

u/OkOkGoGo Mar 07 '15

Didn't they get the algorithm for the safe?

4

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Here we go! Who dies tonight?

7

u/NumberMuncher Mar 07 '15

Not the dog. That's all that matters.

2

u/wookiecontrol Mar 07 '15

What mind of rifle did they use in sugar's bar?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Keep an eye on Banshee Season 3's IMFDB page and someone knowledgable should add it in

2

u/Atlantah Mar 07 '15

Can someone explain me how the military guy found out about Job and Sugar?

3

u/Mysterymachine666 Mar 07 '15

Job made them some fake passes which they used earlier in the season to do a heist in an office building (I forget the exact purpose, but they were posing as janitors). Stowe's hacker apparently discovered traces of their fake identities in the system.

Wow next episode is going to be insane!

2

u/lolyou22 Mar 09 '15

Holy crap, the shot with Proctor walking ahead of the flames was awesome.

The whole Deva-Hood, Gordon-Carrie storyline is getting old. They need to either kill someone or just let it go.

2

u/MrXhin Mar 09 '15

So I guess we won't see any more of that hot little Indian deputy that Chaydon choked out. Too bad.

5

u/M3rc_Nate Mar 07 '15

That episode...was kinda meh for me. It was obviously the episode before the finale...setting everything up, and im okay with that. But i took issue with two big things;

  1. WTF was that writing of Rebekah? Why in the world would she think Hood would give a shit or lift a finger for her or more importantly her uncle? Not only did he tell her when she joined him (at his house by the pool) that he was done with her, that she would share his fate and not help her anymore, but he point blank tried to kill Proctor infront of her for no reason (that she would know). Now the first time was bad enough (going to his office and being shocked when he says no), but when she is super shocked when they exit the building without him? Lol that truly made me chuckle out loud. IMO that writing is not consistent with her character would know in regards to Hood and what he'd do or not do regarding Proctor.

  2. I get this is TV, in fact its Cinemax, and i get this show has been unrealistic before...but don't show and imply basically 30+ minutes of beating someones face and punching them in the ribs if you are going to then have that character speak completely normally (like he doesnt even have a sore jaw) and be healthy enough to walk around with even a gimp or wheeze. In reality that punching would have broken his jaw, destroyed some teeth, given him a concussion most likely, broken ribs, and most likely cause internal bleeding....yet he seems as healthy as someone that just got into a 30 second fight where he took minimal damage.

You'd think "nit-picky" but that type of stuff really takes me outta the show. Also call me crazy but ever since the "love" story with Lucas & Carrie went out the window (and she started banging the Colonel and then her husband) i dont give a flying crap about Carrie. She could die in the next ep and i would shrug and say "oh well". After everything shes done its not like im rooting for her and Lucas to end up together, and overall shes not that interesting.

u/BrewCrew2112 Mar 07 '15

I actually thought Rebecca was written very well this episode. In her mind she's still the heiress and star of Kai's operation but in reality she's just a naive girl that craves attention. The fact that she went to Hood, especially after watching him try to murder her uncle, shows just how distanced from reality she really is. She's in way over her head and has been all season and she's the only one unaware of it. Hood is a guy she has had some measure of control over in the past (or at least perceived control), so why not try and squeeze some more out of him when she's in need? Same as when Burton called her out and she tried to fondle his...whatever he has/doesn't have.

The way she laughed at Emily when Kai told her it was over points again to her being naive. Kai is getting ready to go to war with everybody who has wronged him and he's been made aware that she's the reason he was taken. With how enraged (or as he would put it, awake) he is now, there's no way she's getting off easy next episode. But she still has all the confidence in the world that she can play the situation to her favor. I honesty don't know what lengths he'll go to when it comes to teaching her a lesson. They've got a truly effed up relationship.

As for the second part, I don't really know what to tell you there. You're right, this show has been pretty unrealistic. But not before. Always. It set a standard early on and maintained that through all three seasons. At least that's my opinion, to each their own.

  1. Rebecca isn't renowned for her quick decision making and logic.

  2. This has been this way since the first episode of the show, you should get used to it.

I'm not a big Carrie fan either but we've already lost two strong women characters this season (Nola and Siobhan) so I really would hate to see a third die.

but when she is super shocked when they exit the building without him? Lol that truly made me chuckle out loud.

I think she was more shocked that Brock left the building without him.

Since brock is supposed to be the actual police officer, It's not really the kind of trade he should be doing.

u/RyanT22 Mar 07 '15

I'd say Rebecca was just desperate at that point knowing she is the one that caused all of this. It looked like she was surprised to see Burton outside the police station so I assume she didn't think he'd be willing to help her.

I'm a Carrie fan. I didn't mind her and Gordon getting back together but banging the Colonel was a little distasteful.

1

u/concord72 Mar 09 '15

Completely agree with you, thought the writing was very weak in this episode. To add on about Rebecca, why the hell did the Blackbeards not take her last week? They obviously saw her there and she is the root of their problem, so why would they take Proctor and his woman but not her?

Also didn't like how easily Proctor was able to escape. They show him getting his ass kicked and having everybody come to save him and then he so easily just breaks free and kills everyone.

Weak writing all around this week.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '15

Hmm

2

u/ummhumm Mar 08 '15

I got odd satisfaction when Kai got beaten like hell. That was totally, because of how he let's Rebecca fuck things up all the time and never ever actually punishes her. After he put the black fellas in flames, and was walking toward Rebecca and Burton, I thought he was going to hit Rebecca, HARD. But no, she always gets to do what ever she pleases and even her great drug fuckup in the end did just what she wanted. Made Kai broke up with Emily. I am so goddamn much wanting someone to put the hurt on the bitch.

Besides my hatred for Rebecca, the episode was golden. Every time I see Bunker I'm thinking of how goddamn likable the dude is. I know they set him up like that, talking softly, being apologetic and gentlemanny... and well, good looking, but still.

Job and Bunker should team up. Bunker would just sadly smile at the insults Job throws at him and Job would slowly go insane from the lack of response. Or rather he would just be totally happy with Bunker, to finally have some silent partner who doesn't fuck up his shit.

1

u/fyt2012 Mar 08 '15

This was the best episode I've seen of this show in a long ass time

1

u/Jacifer69 Mar 22 '26

The gasoline on Proctor not going up in flames is the only time in the show that I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief to the point it bothered me

-4

u/lupilipid Mar 07 '15

Did anybody else didnt like Frazier(the blind mob boss) getting killed? He could have been a great character. The obese guy who kidnapped Hood also had potential. That's Banshee for you. The show has so many great characters, they can afford to kill characters no matter how unique they are.

10

u/YellowSucks Mar 07 '15

Did I miss him dying? I thought he and some other guys left before the rest of the guys try to set fire to Proctor.
