Hell breaks loose in /r/PCMR when OP discovers DayZ's price has been raised during the sales.
There is a lot of popcorn and yelling in this discussion. I'll link to starting points of the best arguments. I recommend you spend some time reading the full comments

I am surprised no one has brought up Rocket's huge anti-game sale stance. That will ruffle some feathers in PCMR if anyone brings it up. He has personally said that games should not go on sale until years after release; which is in direct opposition of one of the reasons Steam is so great.
This is a direct quote from a reddit post he made just 15 hours ago:
"I do not like sales. If I had my way, no games would go on sale until they are five to ten years old. That is all my thinking on sales."

Wh-why? Why would he not want sales? Does he want to be special for buying it at launch for full price and not having the game lose value?

The DayZ standalone is the biggest let down I have ever experienced in ~20 years of gaming.

I wouldn't say all hell breaks loose in PCMR. They were quite tame and backed Bohemia for it as opposed to the thread in gaming sub.

DayZ was the game that made me swear off the whole early access thing. Judging by the comments though it seems like they've done a lot since I stopped playing. That said, I assumed the price would rise eventually
