I want to see Zoe give the new girls tours of the house. "Here's where I raised the Axeman. We stabbed him to death over here. And in this attic I killed the butler. Oh and Queenie got in on with a Minotaur in the gardens. Any questions?"
"Yeah, did you guys actually learn anything here?"
454
u/boofire Jan 30 '14
Girls, this is Stevie. Dont mind her, she just wanders around singing in this house.

u/clwestbr Jan 31 '14
As much as I'm not huge on Fleetwood Mac I wouldn't mind living in a house where she just wandered around singing. Yeah her performances this season were superfluous but man she's whimsical.

"This is where is made love with two of the undead"
27
u/timthemajestic Jan 30 '14
"I still do with one of them, but it's okay because I'm undead now too."
2
u/WolfSpiderBuddy Jan 30 '14
I think all of the questions would be "How come some of you died and are here still, and others are dead permanently?"
630
u/FogSeeFrank Jan 30 '14
Do those Albino guys just hang out in the basement or something and then come out when it's time to burn someone at the stake?
184
87
u/Bazampi Jan 30 '14
I think so, I'm pretty sure they're Golems. I think they're supposed to be immune to magic or something.
11
u/badforedu Jan 31 '14
Yes. It is wildly believed in certain sects of voodoo that albino people are considered magical and will be murdered for usage of their body parts in rituals.

They are always seen following Myrtle throughout the season... (when she picks up Zoe, burnings, etc).

u/ourlegacy Jan 30 '14
They get hired or anything these days. Sometimes they are models for big brands like Rick Owens, other times it's movie characters.
1
Feb 25 '14
I was also just wondering about this, since they never show up during that walking dead fest.
1
u/Peaceandallthatjazz Mar 06 '14
They mention "the Council" a few times, so I assumed there was some sort of adult witch headquarters where they work most of the time.

u/lilacbear Jan 30 '14
This must've been an interesting experience for them to film...

It was almost better than all the other deaths. Frog dust, all of a sudden cant use your magic any more sleeper hold, hug of love, who the fuck are those guys walking in front of those pile of rocks, Balenciaga.
4
u/Belgand Feb 04 '14 edited Feb 04 '14
But why did they insist on calling it "transmutation" when it's clearly teleportation? The words don't mean remotely the same thing and if you break it down to the Greek (and some Latin) roots it still makes no sense:
"changing shape" vs. "distant carrying"
What should I expect. They also couldn't be bothered to tell the difference between Papa Legba and Baron Samedi.

This "7 Wonders Test" is going surprisingly fast.
62
u/jumpeduppantrygirl Jan 30 '14
Yeah, they made it seem like this super tough shit that'll take forever, but they've gone through 3 wonders already.
1
u/consilioetanimis Feb 18 '14
I know I'm super late but I wasn't at all expecting the 7 wonders to just be what we've been shown to be regular powers. Bringing things back to life was said to be one early on which is understandable, since it is one of those things that's never allowed in other stories about magic. It would be a huge huge feat. But the other ones seemed rather simplistic.
And if telekinesis and pyrokinesis were among the seven wonders, where does Queenie's thing or Nan's clairvoyance play in? Even Cordelia's sight I feel is a much bigger wonder than a lot of the seven wonders.
1
u/jumpeduppantrygirl Feb 18 '14
Yeah, I thought the Seven Wonders were a bit simple. Like that's all it takes to be the supreme? Doesn't seem that hard. I imagine it'd be tough to come up with other spells or whatever. And I'm not a witch, so maybe those things were hard and I'm just ignorant. I definitely agree though.
2
u/Longlivemercantilism Feb 18 '14
it isn't about being hard but finding the person that can do them all, each of 7 wonder spells could be a test of each type of magic to show who has access to all forms. it is a standardized test.
10
u/mooenz Jan 30 '14
I guess it has to... I'm kind of bummed that we don't get a finale longer than 50 minutes. :(
315
Jan 30 '14
Lily Rabe never has a happy ending on this show.
77
u/witchkrafft Jan 30 '14
She always ends up in ashes. i hope she is the main character for next season. She has so much potential.
21
u/timthemajestic Jan 30 '14
I agree! IMHO I feel that Lily has shown the most versatility, and that may just be because of the characters they give her, but she's also done brilliantly in each role.
22
u/thesametalltale Jan 30 '14
Nor does Jamie Brewer. Just glad my lady Frances Conroy went out in style.

She has always been my favorite. I loved her as sister Mary last season, her evilness was a big turn on. I hope she gets a lead roll next season and doesn't have to play second fiddle all the time.

Didn't she end up with one of the babies in the 1st season?
4
Jan 30 '14
She did, but then she prawned it off on Vivian because she couldn't handle its constant crying.
448
u/wandahickey Jan 30 '14
Shit, for a minute I thought she woke up as Sister Jude.
196
u/secretlypooping Jan 30 '14
i thought Cordelia woke up as Lana too when she was doing the interview with that reporter.

u/Computer_Name Jan 30 '14
That legitimately looked like the room and bed in Tate's house where she convalesced. Couldn't have been a coincidence, but why?
64
17
u/timthemajestic Jan 30 '14
They're always throwing in little Easter eggs that are nods to the previous season(s) (e.g. Evan and Taissa being soulmates, Denis O'Hare's obsession and unrequited love with Jessica's characters, etc.) Reinforces the idea that they're all reincarnations of the same soul in a different life. Looks like that was Jessica's final resting place since she no longer had a soul.

"What is this, knotty pine?!" - Fiona, the only person to critique the decor in hell.
131
u/Natalia_Bandita Jan 30 '14 edited Jan 30 '14
She was FURIOUS. In her defense I find walls of knotty pine awful as well.
2
Jan 31 '14
Alright I give, why does everyone hate knotty pine? I feel as though I've missed a joke.
10
u/Natalia_Bandita Jan 31 '14
Knotty pine for furniture isn't bad, but WALLS of knotty pine are hideous. Pine is a very light colored wood, and the knots in it are darker (like most wood) and it just doesn't look right when it's a wall of panels of knotty wood. It's a bit tacky. It looks like....a 1970s wood cottage. It's just a dated look.
2
u/paint4splatter Apr 16 '14
see, i kinda like the knotty pine for that reason. it give a lived in feel and an odd homey-ness
3
10
u/keepreading Jan 31 '14
Papa Legba wouldn't make a deal with Fiona because she has no soul, but yet she ends up in hell. Is it not her soul that went to hell? That is something I find very confusing.
3
Jan 31 '14
I think Fiona lacked a soul because she was an awful human being. Sure she did do good a few times but for the most part she was hell bound.
5
u/the_blackfish Feb 01 '14
From what I figured - and take this for a grain of salt - she sold her soul to the Axman in the agreement to be his if he tried to kill people in the Coven not to actually kill them, but to force Cordelia to find her powers and become the Supreme. Fiona knew that they'd destroy him in no time, as they did. When he died, she was still his.

What a teenaged version of Hell. "My boyfriend kept breaking up with me."
166
u/Shpoohoo Jan 30 '14
I guess for someone who's had the boy track record she's had, that is pretty hellish.
155
u/jenboas Jan 30 '14
It could've at least been a cool version, where she uses her killer vag on Kyle and it continuously kills him, causing him to break up with her.
50
u/sailormooncake Jan 30 '14
i completely forgot about that until now. you think if they made the effort of giving her such a ridiculous power, they'd have bigger plans for it.
10
u/timthemajestic Jan 30 '14
That's one thing about this series though; they'll throw all kinds of shit out there and half if it never gets fully realized. Probably my only complaint. They just try to fit everything and the kitchen sunk into each season. I was about to shit in season 1 when "Oh, hey, we're three episodes to the end, better throw in a few more characters, and we don't have enough actual historical references, so throw in the Black Dahlia or something, you know make her get it on with the sexy maid or something then just send her to some dark corner of the basement..."

u/TbanksIV Jan 30 '14
I'm hoping they explain that a little bit.
Zoe has killed two dudes with her pootang and mercced a zombie just by looking at it. Homegirl has something going on.
7
u/jenboas Jan 30 '14
I'm just assuming her homicidal ladyparts don't work on zombie men because they've already died.
3
u/lanadelstingrey Jan 30 '14
Right. Not to mention the fact that she is the one who has retaught him everything.
76
u/PlasticSky Jan 30 '14
They never explained why her vagina was cursed.
22
u/jumpeduppantrygirl Jan 30 '14
I find this question to be extremely more pertinent than who the next Supreme was. Why wasn't this addressed?!

Well, from a developmental standpoint, that kind of makes sense. At her age, she's likely still a little self centered, as can be many adolescents her age; not yet understanding of what it means to be independent or fully aware of life's greater responsibilities (she didn't completely come across that way on the show, but generally speaking..) A break up can be a big deal at that age and can bring about some painful emotions.

what if all the girls and women are one person? There ARE 7 of them total. It would explain why they all seem to exhibit some of the 7 Wonders, but no one exhibits them all.
Fiona, Cordelia, Zoe, Madison, Misty, Queenie, and Nan.

Both moments of her in the show were absolute cringe. What were they thinking? her music didn't fit anything that was going onscreen at the time. Just...pointless.
8
u/timthemajestic Jan 30 '14
Uh, yeah, it did. Especially for the finale, the damn song is titled "Seven Wonders." How dare you speak ill of the great white witch.

"Up next: Liza Minnelli talks about her hip." That just made me laugh so hard.

u/GruxKing Jan 30 '14
Not to defend the writers, because this season was ridiculously mediocre BUTTT...
They've made it clear that there's two levels of dead. There's body-dead and soul-dead. Misty could resurrect herself and others as long as they weren't soul-dead. She resurrected herself post-stake because she was only body-dead. She resurrected Myrtle, Madison, and Joan Ramsey while they were only body-dead.
Nan couldn't be resurrected because she was essentially soul-dead after Papa Legba took her to hell. Misty can't come back after her seven-wonders test death because she's trapped in hell (and also, her body is disintegrated into nothingness)

Throughout the series, the more innocent and pure a character is, the more likely they are to have a terrible fate befall them. It's also a nod to her character in season 2 not being able to overcome the demon that possessed her and then dying horribly to be released.

It was Cordelia proving that she could do mind control.
While the other girls were abusing each other through mind control, Cordy was the only one that had her test subject do something innocuous. It really showed her maturity and kindness, and was one of the few good characterizations in the episode
