Let's discuss "The Mentor Face Off."
Of the seven contestants remaining, only five will be selected.

Sam is a little annoying, but man, I liked his look. I think he could be around for the long haul.

If it is the one I am thinking about, he is already on my "over it" list. He said he liked Gretchen more than Mondo. That season of PR makes me irrationally angry.

His look was great! He definitely has a unique point of view. I would've liked him more though if it hadn't been for his attitude. He just came across as trying too hard and acting a little fake. He commented at one point that Isabelle was for sure heading home (and I agree that she shouldn't have made it), and then she was chosen by Nick and headed to the mentor room, Sam gave her the most fake, over-enthusiastic congrats hug. Ugh. I'm hoping he'll keep the bitch-factor in check because I am looking forward to seeing more of his work...

Because they split the top into two groups, the judges should have had the option of changing their 4 contestants. I think it was the X-Factor that did that. If they've reached 4 and they want to put someone else on their team, they can bump someone and they get put back into the pool of designers. Maybe the teams wouldn't have changed, maybe they would have. I think Nick's team would benefit from that shakeup. As it stands, his is the weakest to me.
There was no need for the school yard pick to be two episodes/3 hours. I wasn't looking forward to this episode. Bring on the real challenges. I can't wait to watch Rachel Roy systematically tear those designers apart.

Oh, oh. Commenting on my own comment to add more comments.
Nick calling out Anya: "she barely finished a garment during her season." My favorite moment.
The best possible follow up to that? Nick getting yelled at by Tim Gunn during the teaser about over reaching as a mentor. "Nick is drawing. Nick is draping. NO!"

First off, just have to say that I'm so glad that there will be discussion posts every week in this sub! I always look forward to reading everyone's comments here every week after a PR or PRAS episode airs. Especially the funny, snarky ones. As for this week's episode, I definitely have to jump on the Nick support bandwagon. He was one of my favorites back in the day during his season. Always so positive and enthusiastic about his work! I felt so bad for him both this week and last. Although the previews are a bit worrisome (Tim yelling at Nick for overstepping his mentor duties), I am still crossing my fingers that he has a "make to work" moment with his group. Looking at this glass half full, maybe one of his mentorees will see the most personal growth and ultimately shock us by the end by how far they've come. I guess we'll have to see. While I definitely dig Mondo's aesthetic, I have to declare myself TEAM NICK for now!

I liked the first two episodes, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how things work next week, with all the designers together and the mentors actually, y'know, mentoring.
I was afraid that Tim would be reduced to a Heidi-type role for the season, but from the preview it seems like that fear was unfounded (thankfully!). I hate seeing Tim having to get stern with people, I was appalled by Isabelle's behavior in this episode and am not looking forward to more Stern Tim™ later.
I think Mondo has the strongest team and Nick has the weakest - I'd really only rate Stephanie out of his team - but then who knows where the judges' tastes will lie...

I kinda disliked these first two episodes because I watch PR to see fashion and comments on it. When the mentors were trying to convince people to join their teams, it was a whole lot of airy-fairy things about vision and spirit. Bah. Also, Isabelle should have been disqualified.
Side note: I wonder how it looked while Anya was growing out her hair from the shaved sides :o.

Was rewatching tonight & noticed Dmitry's finale collection music used during the ep. Still makes me think of him. :)

First off, my DVR had this tagged as Project Runway: Under the Gunn. Maybe they should have marketed the show this way.
Again, I felt bad for Nick. Maybe he will end up with the winner.
Why didn't they do the same challenge? It might not have been good tv, but I think the show me what you can do challenge can really highlight your vision.
