Discussion Episode Discussion: Season 3, Episode 8 - The Sacred Taking
In tonight's episode, Cordelia plans Fiona's downfall, a dangerous new enemy targets Misty, and the rivalry between Marie Laveau and Madame LaLaurie comes to a climax.

I was beyond excited that I could watch AHS live over Thanksgiving break (I don't have cable at my place near my university). Turns out there was no episode last week. So I got to sit in my shitty house in my shitty town with nothing to justify coming home for the week aside from some shitty Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant with my shitty relatives. I didn't have the heart to tell my parents I only came home for a live viewing of AHS.
tl;dr I feel your pain, bro.

I don't think anything is "obvious" at this point. First it was obvious Madison was the supreme, then it was obvious Zoe was the supreme. Then it was obvious Misty was the supreme. Now it's obvious Nan is the supreme.
Clearly we have no idea WHO is the supreme.

100% true. I personally think Kaylee is still a contender as well. Madison and Myrtle made it sound like it is well within a Supreme's power to come back to life if killed, especially if they're still flowering. Also, she exhibited Pyrokinesis, which we know for sure to be one of the Seven Wonders. It's far-fetched, but it is AHS and anything is possible.

She can't be. Cordelia said the supreme has perfect health. Madison had the cardiac murmur, so she was out. Nan has trisomy 21, so she's out. Zoe and Misty are still in the running. I'm not sure if Queenie is perfectly healthy, so I have no opinion on her.

Is it okay if I hijack your comment for a question? I was confused by the time frames bouncing around in this episode. Fiona was in her room telling myrtle "no its too soon I found someone for me," then it cut to the axe man saying "its taking too long for you to die." so was that a flash forward or something? I dont even know how to explain it.

That's what I thought. When the Axe Man comes into play, I feel like that was just what Fiona was envisioning as Myrtle was telling her all those things that would happen if she continued living. Or, maybe Myrtle was putting those images in her head. I just took that scene as something that didn't happen and was only a thought/flash forward. I could be wrong, but I think that's what they were trying to do!

I think it was a 'dream' sequence, but it was just her imagining her life at the end as Myrtle described it. Plus, if she kills the new supreme (I think) she'll get healthy again.

I loved the contrast between Madison's monologue last episode about longing to feel pain, or anything at all again; and Fiona's monologue this week about her illness and her agony.

maybe she is, maybe she started to show powers and totally got freaked out and super into religion. I was disappointed when they Shot Patti bc I thought it was a waste of some good crazy, luckily she's back and her enema bag is hot and ready

what i don't understand is how this guy has been a ghost for 50+ years and then he's allowed out of the house and he has his own apartment again. like if it was his from before it would have been rented out to someone else when he stopped paying rent, right? and how would he have the money to stay there?

OH MY GOD I just finished that series. It was so. incredibly. good. France Conroy is absolutely amazing in that show, I can't even describe it. She's kind, pathetic, dumpy, sassy, loud, quiet, flirtatious, and shy all at the same time. The rest of the acting was fabulous too, of course.
edit: bonus, KATHY BATES is in it too as Frances Conroy's loud and awesome friend who helps Frances' sister get off pills.
