We have a lot of comments regarding Clozapine and false positives in here. Good sleuth work, but I hope you are all wrong because that's the least interesting plot driver I can think of, I'm banking on her being pregnant with Brody's baby.

I'm pretty sure they're wrong and it's Brody who knocker her up. She just takes a pregnancy test everyday hoping it will be negative but it's "Still Positive"
It reminds me of the whole "Insanity is doing the same action over and over and expecting a different result." thing

I can't help but feel bad for Chris. The kid has never done anything wrong, been through so much shit, and has the decency to continue to take care of the struggling mother, unlike his sibling.

That moment where Dana was hugging Jessica and Chris was blurred out in the background...perfection.

Let this be Dana written off the show

u/tamarockstar Nov 04 '13
I can live with Dana, but her brother... He has the same emotion for everything, and I hate it every time.
55
u/SawRub Nov 04 '13
I want to know more about him.
He has the same last name. He's the son of a terrorist. Yet he goes to school, and faces the people who probably call him names, and does everything normally with a smile on his face. What's his secret?

I've never seen such lazy writing by someone just letting their daughter out.

"Mom I can't live here anymore, I have to go find myself because I'm a cliched teen"
"Nooooooooooo"
"Yes"
"ok but take tree fiddy"

What a pathetic scene.

Nov 04 '13
I was watching like...damn...when has this EVER happened? LOL
"Mom. I'm moving with a friend you've never met after I just went on a joyride"
"uh...ok"

I'm convinced they leave mom, Dana, and Chris in each episode just to make you appreciate that much more when the story line flips back to actual espionage/spy scenes.

u/TOUGH_LOVE_GAL Nov 04 '13
I thought she was at least going to give her a family heirloom or something.

I liked Chris' part in it. Just standing there, getting a hug and laughing it of.

u/V2Blast Nov 08 '13
Something similar happened this season in Castle... I don't understand the people who use a phrase like "letting their daughter leave". What is Jessica going to do, imprison Dana? Dana's nearly 18; if she's determined to leave in order to get away from her past and her connection to Brody, that's her choice. If Jessica can't change her mind, all she can do is make sure Dana's safe by giving her some emergency money.

Is this just a plot to have Dana go meet up with Brody?
Me thinks that black girl isn't her friend at all, but a connection between Brody and Dana. The way the black girl looks around for cameras when she enters the house was a bit weird.
edit: watched it again, they make a point to show us the black girl looking in the corners of the house when she enters. weird.

u/ErrorlessGnome Nov 04 '13
That's really strange, I didn't notice that but will have to rewatch for it. And yeah, the black girl comes out of nowhere, she is a brand new character.
12
u/shunt31 Nov 04 '13
Here's a still from that scene. I suppose she could be looking for cameras, but it seems more like she was just looking into a room. I watched the whole scene again, and that's the only time she looks around. It would be a good plotline, though.

Is it just me or did Morena Baccarin's boobs get HUGE halfway through this episode?

u/slynn695 Nov 04 '13
She's pregnant in real life

u/Classic_Wingers Nov 04 '13
Kinda funny to have a pregnancy plot when another actress is actually pregnant in real life. I wouldn't have been upset at all if they decided to make Jessica pregnant with Mike's child. Might have brought some renewed hope to a family still trying to pick up the pieces and now she's basically losing her daughter in some respects.
Sidenote: Wasn't Claire Danes actually pregnant during some of the filming last season too?
54
u/tbotcotw Nov 04 '13
Ever since they wrote Katey Sagal's IRL pregnancy into Married With Children, and then she had a miscarriage (or still birth?) I think TV has decided to always write around any pregnant actress.
16
u/Classic_Wingers Nov 04 '13
Wow I totally had forgotten about her miscarriage. That's a very legitimate concern though. That actually makes much more sense as to why we never see a script revolve around a real pregnancy these days, or usually if it does happen, it's a rare instance. Most cases, they try and find ways to mask the pregnancy though which I always find fascinating. Usually shooting scenes where the baby bump is hidden behind an object or person.
4
u/daiz- Nov 04 '13
I wouldn't go that far because it still happens on occasion. I think most shows just realize it doesn't make sense to drastically alter your narrative around a surprise pregnancy. They've become increasingly adept at hiding the fact that people are pregnant during filming so they do just that.

u/CWagner Nov 04 '13
White Collar has Diana Berrigan (played by Marsha Thomason) pregnant just like she is in real life.

u/Viper_H Nov 04 '13
The main character who plays Mrs. Bones on Bones was pregnant during season 7 and they wrote that into the show. Stargate Universe wrote Alaina Huffman's third pregnancy into the show and it was only in it's first season.
There's plenty of other real-life pregnancies that are written into things.

When she came out of the house to give Dana the three-hundy, those things were looking huge! Her head doesn't match her now huge boobs and wide ass shoulders.

u/heybroooody Nov 04 '13
She also has screwed up her mouth with that awful lip implant $hit that any Hollywood lady over 30 thinks they have to do. IT LOOKS HORRIBLE!!

Yeah I wasn't sure if I was just very sexually frustrated and therefore imagining them to be that big, but holy fuck, they were the real stars of this episode!

For a second there I thought Carrie was going to disregard Saul and take that kid with her anyway. Phew.

PREGNANCY TEST SHOWS THAT CLOZAPINE IS STILL IN HER SYSTEM. When you're on Clozapine, it gives a false-posative on pregnancy tests. http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/clozapine

As an Iranian, I love how some shows give inside dialogue to those of us who speak a language. I hope Nazanin and Jabadi speak farsi together later on.
For those who want to know, he was saying to the kid "Hey kid bla bla I came all the way from iran just to see you! oh whats wrong " and so on.
He said to his wife " how dare you have taken my son from me"

Chris was on screen for a whole two mins and never said a word. This must be an inside joke with the writers. Next week it'll be three minutes.

DAE think that maybe Dar is on Saul's side and knows that Saul is doing a secret mission and wants Dar to take care of business at the CIA while he is out?
My prediction is that when the senator takes over he will immediately move to fire Saul, which at that time Saul will come in with the fact he has Javadi and has cracked the terrorist ring and we will find out Dal is on Saul's side.

This might be nothing, but when Saul asks Max to racial profile the area, Farah looks a bit nervy and insists she does it instead.
38
u/SaraRo Nov 04 '13
It was a callback to 2.04 when Saul says to look at all the "brown people" first and Max objects, "that's straight up racial profiling" and Saul counters, "It's actual profiling."

u/effman1 Nov 04 '13
Could be that she thinks racial profiling is wrong/unethical, but since it's pretty much a necessity that they do it, she'd feel more comfortable as the profiler since she's a minority already.

u/Hillary4SupremeRuler Feb 11 '26
I don't see how it's considered wrong or even racial profiling really in this case. It's pretty reasonable to assume he is likely going to meet with someone of his nationality considering he's an agent of that government so the chances of him going to meet with a person from Iran versus a person from Belgium are much higher.
Racial profiling would be stopping every middle eastern looking person at the airport because you received a vague tip that some sort of terrorist attack was going to take place that day. Now if the tip said that someone from the country of Syria was going to commit a terrorist attack involving an airport/plane then it wouldn't be racial profiling to monitor all the people travelling to/from that country.

Dana is now out in the open, making it easier for Brody to make contact with her. The debit card her mom hands her will come into play big time, probably to notify the CIA where a Dana/Brody meet up will take place.

Loved the link between Javadi wanting a new shirt in the last episode after getting a bit of food on it, and how he continued to, almost proudly, wear the shirt he killed Fariba in even though it was covered in blood.

I found it very strange that Quinn was willing to be discrete about Carrie's "Where in the World is Brody Sandiego" wall. I mean, Quinn does know that Carrie loves him but Brody is also the number one suspect in the Langley bombing.
