"I've never seen the community this mad about something this meta." Wrestling fans at /r/squaredcircle are angry that mods have replaced a user's popular WWE Raw discussion threads with "official" threads. Chairshots abound!

Oh god, I knew this would show up eventually.

Explanation: Monday Night RAW is arguably the biggest Wrestling show of the week, besides the monthly Pay Per Views. r/SquaredCircle always has a thread for discussion of the show, where several members of the community comment, as per the norm. Since October of last year, the discussion thread has always been posted by u/Sensiitivity. He is not a mod of the sub, but his threads are seen as official. For a few months, I've also been posting the Post-RAW/PPV threads, though mine are much simpler than his are and I post at a regular time.

Last night, there was a post from the mods thanking u/Sensiitivity for his work, but that there would be an official thread moving forward. Reaction was ... not kind. Worse, the official thread got the date wrong on the title. About a quarter to a half of the comments in the thread were in support of u/Sensiitivity, with many users changing their flairs or making other posts about it (even with a disclaimer asking not to talk about it, about a quarter of the posts in my usual Post-Raw/PPV discussion thread were about the issue).

This morning, the mods deleted the RAW thread from last night. This is probably the first time that this has happened in years, as we can still look and see discussion from previous events. The community is not happy. The mods are being compared to those of r/prowrestling, the very community that we all left because of a power tripping mod. It is not a pretty sight right now.

tl;dr Power user that makes discussion threads told that he is no longer going to make the threads, mods will instead. In mod created thread, mistakes and anger lead to community support for the power user. Mods deleted the thread, community even more angry.

I can't be the only person on r/SquaredCircle that doesn't give a flying fuck who posts the RAW Thread.

It's just what's best for business. Some B+ redditors don't realize that.

When can we expect a "discussion thread on a pole" match?

This is the equivalent of running to the teachers when the other kids wouldn't let you play kickball. Kind of pathetic.
