A flag for art
http://i.imgur.com/mMwsaVS.png
This flag features a hand stencil, one of the earliest known forms of art. They have been discovered on rocks and cave walls all over the world... Europe, Patagonia, Borneo, Australia, etc. Their original meaning and purpose is unknown, and probably differed from place to place, but on this flag it can symbolize the universal artistic desire to leave some creative mark of our own, some reflection or expression of ourselves in the world.

Flag of Altamira
http://i.imgur.com/PJ4lXpd.png
The Cave of Altamira is a cave in northern Spain that is famous for its late paleolithic cave paintings. For this design I took the iconic bison painting, vectorized it, and put it on a flag (with colours chosen that are close to the original cave paintings).

I like how it can be seen as either a pencil moving right or a paintbrush moving left.

World Art
http://i.imgur.com/KMtLSbb.png
The flag is an ink drop dripping from a fountain pen, inside of which is the UN logo. What is represented here is how art crosses borders and binds us together as a race. Art can be created for the enjoyment of everyone, and no one is discriminated against in the possibility of creating art.

Flag of Ancient Greek art.

The flag features the Venus de Milo, one of the best pieces of Ancient Greek sculpture, in white on a blue background. Both blue and white are the colors of the Greek flag.

Flag of Minimalism
http://i.imgur.com/hNh9PSg.png
The point of minimalism is "to expose the essence or identity of a subject through eliminating all non-essential forms, features or concepts" - that is, to make simplest and fewest design possible to create maximum effect. To make a minimalist flag, I decided to take a generic tricolour - the most recognisable flag design, and strip it of all the colours, to make the most basic "tricolour" (if we can call it so) possible.

Sound & Vision (v.1.1 "Wheel")
http://i.imgur.com/efM5VID.png
This design was influenced by Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album art with the use of the prism and colours.
In detail: The prism in this flag represents Vision, and the visual arts; where as the five black lines that are normally seen on a sheet of written music represent Sound and the auditory arts: as Art isn't just on the canvas, self expression isn't limited to a particular art style or niche.
The colour wheel [of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet] symbolises each of the main arts and how they morph and merge together, breaking boundaries, showing the many spectrums Art can be shown in (and one style for each colour): Paintings/Drawings, Photography, Filmography, Dance & Theatre, Music & Soundscapes, and Sculptures & Pottery.

Light and Colour
http://i.imgur.com/pSXdpfo.png
This flag consists of the two core parts of the colour spectrum, the RGB of the human eye on the white of pure light, contrasted with the digital world's CMYK. It's the root of every colour visible in both reality and technology. Loosely inspired by the flags of Japan and South Korea.

REPLY TO THIS POST if you have other flags to share and don't feel they would be appropriate for the contest (e.g. you have more than 3 flags submitted already, you were too late, you just want feedback and don't really care about winning).
Also, bug u/Simon_the_Cannibal if something's amiss.
