I was annoyed by Lexi's plot armor all season and don't think she deserved to be top 4, but she ate that. her song and performance were my fav

I know shes the best option for 17 winner, even though she tanked those lipsyncs, but rewatching the season, Onya is really unlikeable in the design challenges. Yes Lexi was hormonal (I say as a trans woman, dont come for me), but Onya handled owning up to her mistakes very childishly, she should have went with ariety and told Lexi as soon as they realized. Any non crowned queen would have gotten the villan edit.

Finally got round to watching the finale. Was a bit of a snooze IMO but honestly most of the recent finales have been. I was rooting for Onya after Suzie got eliminated but Jewels should’ve won if the crown is to be given based on who does best in the lipsync. Onya’s lipsync was pretty bad actually, Jewels personified Gaga way better. Still not mad about the outcome though but this season was a weird one. I simultaneously enjoyed it a lot and also was quite disappointed by it.

went back and rewatched the lipsync to see how and where jewels was apparently robbed - it wasn't the most amazing LSftC we've seen, but it's so evident that Jewels sadly got absorbed into her reveals, you could almost see her counting the beats in her head until the next thing. onya repeated moves in the last chorus, but was entirely with the audience the whole time. cliche phrase, but she sold the song! but all round, such a good ep, so proud of these girls.

I just rewatched the final lip sync and I can't understand how anyone is going up to bat for their own side in this. It was a little sloppy on both sides and is not either one of their best performances. TO BE CLEAR THESE TWO ARE BOTH REALLY TALENTED. But if you're REALLY arguing over this one, you're just biased.

Neither was legendary, or even iconic, but Jewels clearly put in more effort and did better.

Completely agree.
I just got around to binging s17 and Jewels cleared that final performance. Wasn't even close imo.
Last season, I was rooting for Sapphira but I begrudgingly admitted that Nymphia won the lip sync.
Not surprised that didn't apply to Jewels because the show has lost credibility with the inconsistency with certain critiques and decisions.

I love Jewels and I'm happy for her but I'm so stoked about this winner!

Based on the final lip sync, Jewels should've won.
They should just get rid of the lip sync for your life because it doesn't mean anything anymore. All they care about is pushing narratives.
Jewels had several reveals, had the moves, embodied a pop star. Onya just stood there and gave face + some upper body movement. I wasn't even a huge Jewels fan all season btw, just giving credit where it's due. I got pop star fantasy from her in the finale lip sync.
The final two should really be equals in almost every regard, with the final lip sync being the tie breaker. This thing where they pre-determine the winner and the final lip sync doesn't matter, is stupid.
I was reluctant to watch another season and I'll be tapping out after this. The show has become way too overproduced. Many of the weekly lip sync losers don't make sense anymore.

I'm just saying Jewels won this lip sync.
They should switch to a more honest system where the lip sync counts towards your total weight in the competition. They need to stop calling it a lip sync for the win when half the time it doesn't matter.

So I agree with a lot of this except the part where you think any of this is even slightly new lol.
A predermined winner with a lipsync that doesn’t matter has been happening since forever.
This one just felt a little extra egregious because we expected better from Onya tbh

I feel great about my tip for Miss Congeniality being right, even though almost no one agreed with me. Otherwise, congratulations to our new queen with the most nurve!

Just finished this. Onya’s dancing had to be one of the worst lip sync dances I’ve ever seen on the show. Not that Jewels was incredible, but Onya was downright bad.
