TOURNAMENT FINALE Naruto Battle Royale: The End

Welcome, folks, to the end of it all.

I suppose I'll just start with the winner, which... unfortunately, was:

Winner: Naruto Uzumaki

(surprise)

I'll admit even I, who ran the tournament, am finding it hard to be enthusiastic about this result. While I think everyone deserves a chance to be called the strongest, Naruto was a bit... unfair.

However, it's not all bad. I hold to the philosophy that this tournament was more about the journey than the destination, so I'd like to call your attention to some of the awesome matches we had along the way:

There are of course, a few honorable mentions to this list, but these fights in particular blew me away.

For reference, here are all the rosters, starting from Round 1:

Round 1 Roster

Round 2 Roster

Round 3 Roster

Round 4 Roster

Semifinals Roster

Final: Naruto vs. Minato

(If you want to search a particular match, just search something like "participant 1 vs. participant 2" and you'll get your result. For example, if you want to find Jiraiya vs. Hiruzen, just search "jiraiya vs hiruzen" and it will most likely be the first result.)

It's been a long road, folks. I know there was a lot of ill will toward Naruto being in the tournament (especially now, since he won), but I personally think the journey was fun and that it was worth it. You're all entitled to your own opinions, of course, so I'm sorry if you hated it.

Whether you liked the tournament or not, I think its most important legacy is the many more people that were encouraged to become active in the community; from the upcoming OC tournament to the debates inside threads, I think we've taken a big, important step to being an interactive and immersive community, and that can only be a good thing.

Perhaps I will do something like this again--we'll leave Naruto out and I'll approach it differently. I've learned many things from this tournament, and I hope any people who hold tournaments in the future have as well. Let's all make this subreddit the best it can be.

So that's it, folks.

It was fun.

This will be... my final legacy...

dies

As I'm sure some of you hope that actually happened, I am not dead. Just saying. The tournament is, though. Which I'm sure you said people are happy about.

Soooo... yeah. I tried to end it in a dramatic way, but I suppose I'm not good with drama. So that's it.

Whether you liked it or hated it, I hope you accept that something happened here in this past month or so. I enjoyed it, and if at least one other person enjoyed it, I'm happy.

ON TO NEW HORIZONS! TO A BETTER TOMORROW! TO A(N) (HOPEFULLY) ABSOLUTELY-GOING-TO-BE-BETTER TOURNAMENT!

Peace. You are all beautiful.

HOLY SHIT NARUTO WON THE NARUTO TOURNAMENT??!?!

But without being a condescending jerk, I wanna say that each match was decently run, and this tournament had a good approach.

We have gathered lots of great information from this, and our tournaments to come will be better because of it.

My thoughts exactly, thank you. It was a bit anticlimactic, but at worst, it was a trial run. It was a learning experience for all of us, I suppose. Let's hope it sticks and that every tournament hereafter is one all of us can enjoy.

You truly deserve the name "clever ruse", this tournament was really well done especially with the match ups! Its a shame that it couldn't have gone on longer though, but otherwise a really good job on it. Plus this isn't really the end as we have Doomsday Design's OC tournament starting tomorrow as well as the Ghoul Pool. Also a giant thank you for organizing this and taking the time to make the match ups and to give redditors a chance to debate about their favourite character!

give redditors a chance to debate about their favorite character

I'll admit, you had me. I was happy someone liked it, and then... boom. That was a clever ruse on your part as well. Touché.

On the off chance you weren't being sarcastic, I'm glad you liked it. But that phrasing... I just don't know anymore.

I think Pain should have won. It was a one on one tournament and with the amount of powers he has, no shinobi could beat him. Especially if he didn't toy with anybody.

Biggest arguments for Naruto and Minato - "They're just too fast and strong!"

Watch as speed is treated as it should be in the OC tournament because people won't have characters they can just vote for cause they like them.

This'll just make all the rest of the tournaments all the more unbiased. You said it yourself, right? Now Naruto can't participate in any of those anymore.
