Discusion Season 2, Episode 10 - The Name Game (Spoilers)
We are back in the Asylum after the midseason break, with the first episode in 2013.
In this episode the Monsignor confronts the Devil, Dr. Arden's experiments reach a shocking conclusion, and Dr. Thredson has his reunion with Kit.
This episode will apparently also contain a clue to the location of season 3 of American Horror Story, so keep your eyes peeled.

Maybe she didn't have family. Sometimes the lack of family is the reason people join organizations like this. Not to mention all the lesser beings that have disappeared / died on this show and nothing else is said about them. Most of the staff and, of course, the inmates seem to be forgotten people with no background.

Except, since Threadson is a doctor at the Asylum, he can have her confined to an isolated room and strapped to a table for the remainder of her pregnancy, then take the baby and kill her. She would never get the tape to the police.

Thank goodness as we see in the next episode, she gets out. It's too risky strapping her down bc others will raise the alarm. As there is no devil Mary Eunice and Arden anymore, nobody would back him up. Also the mother superior now knows she's sane and, as we saw in the preview, will let her out.

She(Shelly) says quite clearly while laughing, "Did you have an accident?" So pretty much premature ejaculation, guess he was super excited or just hadn't done it in a long time.

The whole sentence was "Did you have an accident? I mean, you’re seven feet tall, I thought you’d be hung like…" which would imply that best case scenario there was a size issue, worst case there was some kind of deformity/mutilation.

I didn't see that happening, he always made it clear he didn't want her sexually. He loved her innocence. It was a conflicted love, yes, because he was a man with desires, but ultimately he wanted her purity and by then, it was gone.

I just wish they did more with mary eunice's situation rather than just throwing her off a balcony and calling it quits.

I don't think we're done with the demon yet. It's too clean of an end.
An interesting way to play it would be to have the Aliens being the big bad at the end of the season and the demon comes in to save them because the humans belong to demons, not to the aliens. I think aliens vs. demons would be a great ending for the season.

ehhh...I wasn't really into the whole aliens thing. I feel it just doesn't really fit into the story. I was hoping to at least see the damn thing or see it transform Mary Eunice into something horrific like it did to Jed Potter.

I thought that briefly. But he had been suicidal for several minutes in the show, so I thought that, too. He put the gun to his head in the forest clearing, he told Monsignor that he had to cremate SME and that he would do it himself. I also thought at first he was just going to maybe lay beside her and hold her or just put his arms around her in a full body hug. But I think he did the right thing by burning himself and destroying his own evil.

I love the parallel they pulled between Threadson and Ilse Koch with the human skin lampshades. It's the little touches in this show that make it awesome.

Maybe is was all a ploy. She can sit by, watching everything around her, not having to be responsible for all those tiresome things she had to do as the boss and focus on getting back in power with her new and improved attitude. I think at first she was zonked, but she may have come out of it faster than she let on.

That was hearbreaking. It seems Sister Jude won't be all there anymore and will stay like that in Briarcliff for the rest of her life. Tragic, but at least the tiny bit of her that is still there is trying to help Lana get out. :(

Holy shit, Arden. This show has a knack for humanizing monsters.
Edit: Aww man now I have pity for a Nazi doctor. I can't remember the last time tv made me gasp like that.

I felt that way several episodes ago when he asked Sister Mary what she wanted from him because he knew he was "old and ugly". I do like that he burned with the devil though.

Did anyone else think the patient with the doll was feature prominently this episode? Especially the doll. It kept being a prominent figure in both the foreground and background. I also found it funny how two different characters said "epic failure" or "failed epically" this episode as well.
